New project. Got inspired watching Serenity the other day and decided to have a go at a Serenity inspired shuttle....inspired that is. I simplified it a bit, giving it a low fixed-wing design. Anyway....here's the test build with a few figures to give it some perspective. Should be up on the blog in a few days.... It's really good!
The centered seam above the craft makes me remember your giant squid. I bet it uses the same technique.
I'll be waiting the blog post!

Excellent. I really like the roundishness of this. So many SciFi models are rather boxy. This is not and should lend itself very well to some greebling should one be so inclined.
Thanks

I like it...
I especially like how the model is relatively simple but you've given it a lot of architectural detail with the graphics... impressive.

It's based on this shuttle (if you haven't seen Serenity or Firefly) But simplified a fair bit (made it a low fixed-wing instead of a higher swivel-wing design) (and I did steal a fair bit of the detailing from the concept sketch...) GM64

I decided to try my hand at making some figures to go with the ship. Here's the fronts of the first batch: The women of Serenity. I'll do the men, and include them with the shuttle when I put it up. GM64 UPDATE: Just replaced the image with the finished women figs (with backs).

Imho these figures are very good for your first commercial set. You have to teach a lot also to several improvised paper figures' authors. ;D PS: Now I am not sure about anything. There is also back arts ?

Yeah, there are backs done. I'll include all the Serenity figs in with the shuttle when I put it up on my site. And of course they'll be free.....
The figs are an attempt to try making figs with (mostly) vector art. (with a little photoshop touch-up for highlights at the end of the process).
I had a deep "conceptual" idea that might lead to cataloging body parts and may lead to a really easy way to put out custom figures quickly (eventually). I'm happy how its worked with with these so far....we'll see how it goes with the male figs.....

Thanks, I'll built this this weekend!
P.S. That was very weird! I left my autocorrect set for Brazilian Portuguese for mistake, and he substituted weekend for "serenidade". You can take a guess for what is the English translation of this, can't you?
Exactly.

I really like the work on the Prodigy figure. Her texturing is my stand-out favorite in that lineup.

Holy smokes the shuttle and figures are just amazing!!! Great work! Yeah - what he said (And Okumarts knows what he's talking about!) Cracking model & great figures, GM64. I know what Squirmy's saying about the Prodigy figure...but I just go for the Courtesan every time! DaveA

Hi Grendel, I'm sorry to bother you, but the new Grendel Hello, I'm sorry to bother you, but the new Margaret Weis Productions' "Serenity" RPG has just been published. So I am in a phase of over-enthusiasm. Excuse me. :-D So ... is there any news about the remaining crew, please? Ciao

Hi Grendel. Got to say I love the eyes on these figures, you can really see the character reflected in them.

Um, yeah......
They're mostly done, but I got a little discouraged with Wash.....so they've been sitting basically abandon...doing nothing. For a while now.
OK....I'll work on them the next few days and see if I can get them up for you.

OK....I'll work on them the next few days and see if I can get them up for you. GM Thank you very much, Grendel! Nothing is compulsory and therefore only a try is a very welcome thing. Thanks. But a Firefly RPG deserves only the best ( I've read conflicting reviews about this latest version but I can always resume the previous version )a nd these figures ... they are the best, they take up, imho, the characters' personalities in a totalizing way. As I have already said they are so good that they would take five-star rating as commercial product. I'll try to explain better, and I don't mean to the figure's pose, it is too easy. This is "River TAM": ... ... She isn't River TAM: ... ... She is River, again:

Maybe I'll try some of the minor characters, some regulars and some Reavers next..... GM. PS....here's a preview....

You have enough number's figures (and very high quality ) to participate in at least two sections. They are new figures. 2 - If you did other figures I, as I do with all, I suggest to you to try to transform these sets into commercial products. Not through any gain, which probably will not be, but as your personal trial on your work. probably there will not be a lot of money but sometimes also only personal satisfaction is a good pay. Thanks very much for your effort.

Rhannon, GM could not sell these figures, they are too obviously a derivative and that would be a violation of the DMCA. That being said, they are awesome, as all of his projects are. I often wonder how Darkmook gets by with the derivative sets for sale and I love them but I cringe a little because willful violation of copyright can go from a $200 fine to a $20k or more fine far faster than people realize.
GM, have you thought of doing a commercial set at all? People would totally buy it.

Rhannon....do you mean the Papercut awards...? Maybe I will enter this set in there.
As for commercial....nah. I'm happy measuring my success with bog hits and google hits. Its just a hobby for me...putting money into it would just take away the fun for me.
But thanks for the compliments....
GM.
