I have searched the forum for some shadowrun minis, but have been unsuccessful in finding any. Have I missed them? If there aren't any, I would love to see a set. Otherwise I will begin pestering y'all with questions on how to start from scratch to make my own. Also, I think this is my first post Cadia134

I don't think anyone has done any specific Shadowrun minis but there are several minis in the Hoards that would work nicely for Shadowrun.

I snagged most of the hoard stuff. I really am looking for the different races in a cyberpunk style. Troll, dwarf, ork, and elf. Heck if someone can point me to some decent line drawings or sketches that would be a big help. Thanks Cadia134

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there are no specific commercial products or free sets for Shadowrun. You can use, as already mentioned by others, other figures, adapting them to the setting. But there are no elves, orcs ... Then, if the lack of figure's back-art is not a problem for you, you can see if Precis Intermedia or Triple Ace Games have something I can use. Not long ago, I participated in the "Interface Zero 2.0: Full Metal Cyberpunk" kickstarter. It has some iconic paper flats. It isn't Shadowrun but these figures ( they have no back-art ), remind me Shadowrun more than those before. You can download a sample file here ( it is RPGNow so you can save " Full-size Preview" file ). There aren't elves or orcs but they are hybrids. Last chance: you can try to find the old " Shadowrun: DMZ Downtown Militarized Zone" boardgame. It had many ( old type like SJG cardboard heroes ) figures whit front and back art. Or the second edition Gamemaster's Screen. It also had flats. Now Catalyst Game Labs produces the fifth edition so we can even hope that they produce some decent flat figures.

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far. I'm still looking. I have checked DA for stuff that might work, but there very few full body pics. Google wasn't much help. I did find some stock photos that I may try to convert in Gimp but that sounds like a lot of work.

I did a google image search for "shadowrun" and came up with quite a few images that would make a good start. You will need to do your own backs though. There are a few tutorials around here to help you do that.

What miniatures do you need exactly? I am playing Shadowrun Returns these days and I think it might be fun to try some Fantasy cyberpunk minis. I just started a one week vacation also, so I might have time to throw something together.

@ Brave Adventures THe off races are what is missing. Troll, ork, qwarf and elf. THere are a lot of human figs that work well, but the other races are next to impossable to find. Anything you put together will be welcome.
@ Cowboyleland thanks for helping out a newbie! I think my biggest issue was not knowing what poses or styles work well. thanks.

Not my artwork, all credit goes to the creators of Shadowrun, but here is something I threw together from an image in one of my sourcebooks. Hopefully it can get you started in the right direction (sorry for the lack of a back, I am terrible at that). Dwarf Mercenary

ok, so I followed the links above, took one of the pics from DA and colored it in Gimp. Now when I try to size it it is pixelated beyond recognition, what did I do wrong?

Brother, I feel your pain. Getting set up for scaling is the hardest part for me. I never know what resolution I am starting with and I don't really understand the interaction between dpi and scaling. What I do first is create a document 8.5" x 11" at 300dpi in GIMP. Then I paste the original image into that document and play with "scale layer" (and "undo") until it measures 28mm-30mm from foot bottom to eye. After that I start the colouring and doing the back. I often switch from about 400% zoom(drawing details) to 50% or less so I know I'm not drawing things that won't read on the gaming table. I will try to do a back for the fig Vellcrow (such a cool name!) offered above to make up for the time you spent with my insufficient advice and because right now, on this thread, I'm all talk. C.

thanks, after playing around with it I finally got it. It started out as this www.deviantart.com/art/Troll-runners-350035353and this is the WIP. Any pointers, critiques, or help is welcome. and here an updated version, closer to done I think. I flipped it so the fold line was near the head, and rotated the picture so both of his feet were on the ground.

He looks good. I find that profile poses like this one look fine mirrored. On the other hand they are almost as easy to "back" as someone with a cloak. In this case you would draw a line connecting the ends of the axe haft, paint out all but the corner of the belt pouch that sticks about the leg, paint out the canteen and draw a bit of belt in its place. Paint out the fingernails to look like knuckles and you are done!
More big talk on my part : ( I have a show that opens Tuesday. I will maybe have some time after that. I started on Vellcrows fig last night, but I want to do a better job approximating the trench coat texture.

I started to try to back the fig, but I found the hips, pouches and torso twist to be a bit beyond my art skill. And I kinda like the grey back, I feel it makes it easier to see which way the fig is pointed on the table.
Thanks for the pointers though, I may come back to it after I get some more practice!

And another Shadowrun inspired mini. It looks like a Troll Slayer, but maybe it could be used as a shaman character? I'll post the download link soon. Ryan

Forget that GW symbology - it's Shadowrun -It is a biker ganger / punk. Plain and simple! Never mess with the Red Beards all ye Polyclub losers !!! Ah, and the orc should not be green. He is a human like you, you know? Making him green is clearly a racist stereotype.

... Ah, and the orc should not be green. He is a human like you, you know? Making him green is clearly a racist stereotype. You are right! As often it happens ... But Shadowrun is an old setting. I think that not everyone is familiar with his basic background ( in one night a good part of human beings is transformed and wakes up in the guise of mythological races, elves, orcs ... magic appears, or returns as you prefer, other things happen ...) today. so color ... and a bit of human features ... I have resisted until now

Orcs showed up in a variety of colors in shadowrun. I distinctly remember an orc yakuza guard on the back of one of the source books. Wasn't there an orc mercenary that was a yellow ish green in the archetypes?
