... and suddenly ... as a surprise ... they have arrived (in this very sad time of famine). Twelve masterpieces as usual. Only one leg, out of 24, doesn't convince me. Thank you very much, Javier. PS: I need you.

Ok, waiting for Reivaj's official topic/press release ... I will be a little less cryptic The new adventurers' set by Reivaj has just been released on RPGNow: the "Wanderers". Yet another masterpiece of color and dynamism. Absolutely not to be missed. 12 outstanding figures. Bravo Javier, keep it up.

For those of you still wondering what Rhannon's talking about, Reivaj just released a new set! Very nice mix of 12 figures, great to round out an adventuring party or three (human, elf, dwarf, gnome, ratman, draconic and several classes). Great artwork as usual, poses, colours, details... Love that most of them are named, sparking ideas for background and personalities. Only one thing - why are there only two women? Especially when you, @reivaj, do such a wonderful job of representing them as capable people instead of oversexualized. Please, more women! I've a player who'd love a dwarves female fighter, with little to no beard P.S. "Chaman" would be "Shaman" in English, but it's a very minor quibble. EDIT: Wow! I've been ninja'd by Rhannon LOL I guess I was taking too long with my post, and looking at the preview

Wow!! That was fast!! Thanks Rhannon. Anne, these are NPC and PC from an old D&D 3.5 campaign that i was making to use in the play for me and my partners. My party consisted by Ulfgar a cleric-warrior dwarf, Thanathor the dwarf shaman, Pent Ta Kil the female gnome magic user (daughter of Alastar, the male gnome wizard), Sidekick, an elf thief-archer and me, Reivaj an elf archer that is include in the Adventurers: elves set. The Druid was an very ugly and short enemy that can turn into rat form and climb to the big barbarian back to use him like a battle tank . The Orc weapon trader was not an enemy, he contract us to deliver an order of weapons in an abandoned village. Astrid Piedrasolar was the first that give us a quest for find the other members of her magic secret circle that protect a old magic forest. Excuse me if I'm boring you but I wanted to explain the "why" of each character and the shortage of female characters

Another great set of adventurers. I love the fact that there are so many great artists doing actual heroes and adventurers that I can simply go back to making Imperfect Background People to fill up towns, villages, farms, and settlements, as they were originally intended.
Dryw the Harper
Please use Imperfect People responsibly, as those Reivaj's Wanderers run into as they wander.

Wonderful to know the background a bit, and explains the character variety, and (alas!) shortage of females. And you've been far more egalitarian than most in your figures ratio of male to female figures, so I don't mean to come off critical (68 to 54 published, in case anyone was wondering).

Hi Anne, have you also counted the ants? AHA! I knew/hoped someone would bring that up. Yup, I was including all three sets of ants as female, and considered the mushroom and moss elementals to be gender-neutral. Going by the order of sets on RPGNow, the breakdown is as follows: 6 + 6 + 2 + 12 + 12 + 11 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 54 female [assuming, that as in nature, the ants are all female - males are just giggolos ] 6 + 6 + 10 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 7 + 11 + 10 + 12 + 6 + 0 = 68 male [considering the mushroom and moss elementals as neutral ]

Reivaj - I got a promo e-mail from RPGNow for the new set which said "Special price for : $ (click the link to apply the discount)"...
Is it the link at the top? Is $2.90 the discounted price??? I'm going to be buying them anyway - they look fantastic - but thought I should be stereotypically Scottish and make sure I haven;t missed out on saving a little bit of cash.... lol!!

How can you tell what's behind all that iron and steel layers?

I put any Dwarf on the gender-neutral category. How can you tell what's behind all that iron and steel layers? And this in turn has given rise to the belief that there are no dwarf women, and that dwarves just spring out of holes in the ground!

I always liked the idea that dwarven women's beards were particularly silky, downy, softer than a kitten's touch. Or that they just go incognito and hide behind a manly beard while in public. But really, I prefer little to no beard on my women, dwarf or no dwarf. That way you don't have to have them clad in Madonna-bustier-inspired armour to read them as female...

"Dwarven mating rituals are an elaborate dance of manners that are mainly about trying to politely discover the sex of the other dwarf involved." - Terry Pratchett
