I've been following this site for a couple months. They started out doing models as models, in scales 1/72, HO 1/87, 1/100 (15mm), N 1/160 y Z 1/220. For their newer models, they have added 1/56 (28mm). There are modern buildings, older buildings, and currently they are working on a Watch Tower and Fortress. You can check it out at edificiosdepapel.blogspot.com.br/The one downside is that the models come in a pdf with all the scales ... for instance, the steel factory is 99 pages ...

These are so beautifully done, and oh, how I would love to use them, but when I go to download them, all I get are the cut files, which I cannot use. Am I missing something here? I can probably put together something similar using the dimensions they show, and then paint them with a texture of my own...

Hi there everyone. I'm part of "Edificios de Papel" and just registered and logged in to thank Vermin King for his kind backlink to our site. We are sorry that files are huge, but we were not sure to succeed handling so many single files, 6 files per model - this would mean 300 files every 45 days. We'd love to keep on enlarging the list of papel models, so we decided to put them all together in 1 file. Also restrictions by Deposit Files forced us to do so. Please be certain that we are constantly looking for improvements to our users. We are also grateful to Dungeonmistress for her kind words, much appreciated! We are so sad to learn that you have troubles with the model. Please let us know about your issue, we couldn't understand quite well why you're saying that you're getting "the cut files"? We'll do our best to help you. Hopefully I'm not breaking any forum's rule by stepping into this thread. Alternatively, we're fully available through email (edificiosdepapel@gmail.com) or through the comments left in our site. Thanks again for your support, hopefully we'll keep on designing more stuff you can enjoy.

Welcome to the forum, Monica. The large files can be an issue for people that do not have large harddrives, and I am not sure what the download issue is for dungeonmistress. I think I am going to have to get CutePDF or something similar on this computer so that I can print pdf's of the scale I want and delete the rest.
I am so glad that you are doing models in 28mm scale. Very useful to gamers. Thank you for your efforts.
And dungeonmistress, which model were you attempting to download? Maybe I can help you out.

Thanks Vermin King!
I can perfectly understand your point, it is indeed an issue and we're giving it a deeper thought. We are thinking on bundling all 6 single files in a zip or rar file, do you think this would be a good thing?
Regarding 28mm scale, yes! When it comes to decide about the model to develop, we have to choose those buildings that can fit this scale without breaking the model into a million pieces! Consider that we want our models being enjoyed by all scale users, they should be able to print them at home, in regular printers.
Ideas and suggestions for buildings on 28mm are welcome!

Many thanks WackyAnne for your warm welcome :-) I'm just 50% of "Edificios de Papel", Hannibal is my better half and he's a warhammer and infinity player with around 2000 miniatures, he's a Bretonnian Knight! ...I sometimes fear finding him wearing the armor and sword at home :-) We'd love to add your forum's link into our list in the site. We are thinking on bundling all 6 single files in a zip or rar file, do you think this would be a good thing? I have no preference between zip or rar. I do both frequently and neither has given me any issues. I do think that this would be helpful to most of the community.

Monica! Welcome! and thank you for attempting to address my issue, you, too Vermin King! What happened is that I tried to down load those beautiful battlements, all seemed to go well, until I tried to open the file. The message I got said that windows couldn't open this file with knowing what program created it. This is the same message I get any time I have accidentally try to open a cut file. I don't have a robo-cutter so those files don't do me any good. I thought that was what happened this time. Guess I'm wrong. The size of the file shouldn't be an issue as I have a full terabyte on my hard drive. Someone smarter than me will have to tell me what I'm doing wrong...@vermineking?

Hi Dungeonmistress, the files you download from us are zipped pdfs. It looks as if you didn't have the right program to open the zip or the pdf, do you? If you cannot extract the file, we can try to send you the scale you need in any other format such as jpeg (tif or png are heavier)

Dungeonmistress, I use 7Zip for all my extraction needs. It opens zip files, rar files and several others that rarely come up.
Google it and then download.

Dungeonmistress: It's possible you've downloaded the RAR files instead of the PDF. I get the same error message with RAR files, as I've nothing on my PC currently that will open them.

I have no idea what kind of files they were, but I take your word for it, as you obviously know more about it then I do. I will Google 7zip today and try again. Thank you all, for all your help. Right now I have to go clean out my refrigerator. Pray for me!

It seems you've linked to the wrong file on your homepage - the link leads to file "Model 1452 Muro Castillo.rar" on Deposit Files. But thanks anyway for your great models. Greetings, Zephalo

Thank you Vermin King! I finally got 7Zip downloaded. It's working like a charm! And thank you Monica for the beautiful models. These will be great when I get them done! Oh yeah, as regards the refrigerator: It's days are numbered! The compressor and the thermostat are both faulty, so we will have to buy a new one this summer. Wish we didn't have to spend money on replacing it, but there's no help for that.

7zip is the bee's knees I wouldn't be without it. Monica, the castle is absolutely wonderful only I'm going to have to get myself another printer cartridge before I try printing it out and putting it together.

Thanks all for your kind words about the fortress. It is huge and tall, so I guess this is why it takes you so much ink, wildagreebough, you don't have to print all pages, only those of the scale you want. Dungeonmistress, I'm happy you got it now with the 7zip :-)Sorry to hear about the spend for the broken fridge, think that you will be enjoying a brand new refrigerator this summer :-) For all of you to know, I've just uploaded the new version of the watchtower, the one with concrete textures. I think it is great for WWII sceneries or any other modern set up, edificiosdepapel.blogspot.com.es/2014/05/torre-de-vigilancia-en-papel-para-wargames.htmlHope you like it! If you find any mistake or missing item whatsoever, please let me know :-)
