I really like chariots, I have various examples in my collection of plastic and metal wargaming minis. but when it came to making a printed paper chariot I didn't have much success. Having just found the MMIP Armies of Mythology PDF I was delighted to discover a chariot on pages 6-7. The rest of the Amazon minis that it belongs to are nice too, only I'm trying not to distract myself before I've finished the armies I'm presently working on. I'm wondering if it would be alright if I was to use this chariot as a template to create other chariot models for other armies? My Silk Road Elves could certainly do with a chariot or two. War elephants are all very well, but it would be nice to have some chariots too.

I would imagine that it would be fine, but a web search for 'chariot paper model', 'papercraft', 'bastelbogan', 'kartonmodel', 'epinal', etc. should give you other options if this one does not pan out

Using this free item is fine just so long as anything that you create using this as a base has the tag-line; "Based on Jim Hartman's Amazonian chariot model". Most artist's are fine with people doing modifications of their free items so long as the original work is credited. It's always nice to ask though.

Thanks for posting that chariot, and for the flickr link, Parduz. cowboyleland, I'd forgot the wealth of stuff you'd produced, and am so grateful for all you do! One of these days I'll have to tackle your 2.5D constructs!

I forgot about that chariot. WackyAnne Don't be intimidated by the 2.5's The point was that they be easy to build. You glue and cut like a 2d model and then there are a few folds or curls of the model to give it shape. Ta Da!

cowboyleland: i'd like so much to have a series of chariots, say a couple for each fantasy race, to try a couple of "ben-hur-like" chariot racing ruleset, or that old game i can't remember the name... we have minis, we have horses.... we just lack chariots

I forget what inspired me to make that chariot. The interesting parts I took from Jim's elven ballista. I am really distracted these days so I don't know when I'll be making models again.
People should feel free to use the elf chariot as a template for other chariots, if it helps.

Perhaps an adaptation of the Outrider rules would work for chariot battles. You'd have to change a few things in the combat portion, less machine-guns and flamethrowers on the chariots for starters, but the card-based movement system would lend itself well to chariot races.

I had a notion to do the same for rocket ship battles using cards similar to outrider. Wouldn't be hard to make balanced sides that way, plus I always thought the movement system was awesome. I love that chariot, Parduz!

I love chariots, too, and after seeing yours, @parduze, I was inspired. My idea would use a toilet paper tube as the basis for the front, beyond that... well, I haven't gotten much beyond that, yet. I have to get a bunch of other things out of the way first.
