Jim had this idea once called the Fanticraft Collective to help jumpstart new artists. I'm finally in a position where I can do the same thing. "I only reach so high because I stand on the shoulders of giants." Thanks Parduz.

ok so I have been back to work ! and here's the next installment of the woods the Splinter Knights! this is one of five ! I will have them all on Drive through RPG when they are done and what not ... actually I'm still not entirely sure about what I'm doing but I have left it in the capable hands of Mr. Squirmydad so I'm sure it will be just fine!

Oh I love his shield!!!! Can't help but feel you need to add a bit of shading to the inside of his cloak as well as the back though. It looks very flat in the front view.

thanks Wild, Migbib I think your right also but when I did add shading and texture to the cloak it's so small that it comes out looking muddy and weird when I print it. remember I'm still trying to figure out 28mm it's not my favorite because it's forcing me to find other ways of doing things that aren't always intuitive. I would love to get to the point where my stuff was half as good as Joe's ! pasiphilo.deviantart.com/gallery/36650779/Paper-Minis then I could die a happy man!

I think what's great about the Female Elven Sorcerer (talking pasiphilo's figure now) cloak is that it doesn't go straight across the bottom - it's all sorts of wavy, which creates places for a variation of shading in the folds, but the whole thing isn't just dark. Those wavy lines add a lot of texture that enhances the shading. I've only been able to release one halloween themed mushroom guy, so take my comments with a grain of salt

Those are stunning minis alright Aaron, but in terms of dynamic energy and originality your minis aren't so far behind. By the way, what printer are you using? Some colour printers are low res and it's just about impossible to get a decent printout from them.

im using a 10 year old broken half baked 30 dollar special from Walmart .... what it works .... ok ok I know my printer sucks but it's all I have for now. Soon when I start conquering the world I will have a high def printer and a super high power camera but until then it's my bootsy printer and my cell phone. LOL well we all have to start somewhere.

Why don't you ask one of us with a Hi-res printer to run off some copies of your figures and post them to you? I'm still waiting for my newish HP Photosmart to arrive or else I'd be glad to do it, - though I suppose postage from New Zealand could be a wee bit slow.
True enough that we all have to start somewhere. I should post a picture of my dead printer pile which is a testament to having to buy cheap and nasty due to being of slender means.

even in the wilds of the Splinterwoods they still have their foot schloging grunties! here we have the Splinter Soldiers ... well soldier I have 5 more in the q and they will just repeat themselves so you can have a regement of however many you want to print out. this one was an experiment with texture at 28mm I rather liked how it turned out and I may start employing this technique on the rest of my models. what do you guys think? black boarder white boarder png file no boarder so you can make a cut file or some such?
