Wonderful! Any army needs to have its basic grunt troopers I love the extra texture work by the way, it really does add to the look of the mini.

ok so where are we at so far? we have feral elves we have foot soldiers we have spearmen we have archers we have knights we have mounted knights there's a mounted hero there's a dragon Eldufice is still missing his hounds which makes him look kind of naked... The Dryads are good I just need to finish the remaining four of them. I still haven't finished the other 3 Elder spirits and their familiars I don't see the Splinterwood Elves really ever leaving the woods so they don't really have a need for siege weapons what do yo guys think? though they are sailors in the most basic sense for fishing I don't see them as having a fleet of ships. so no corsairs or anything I still feel like I'm missing something? .... hummmm wait I think I know a basic flying unit? something that flys! of coarse! anything else I am missing?

For the foot soldiers, other than the two handed weapon with a shield, I really like it. A smaller more elegant weapon would fit the fig better. perhaps split it out into light infantry and heavy infantry. A sword or smaller ax with the shield for the light and the two handed for the heavy?

I think the might climb up into the trees for cover and attack advantage, but I don't see them needing siege weapons.
Something that flies...Giant Eagles? Giant bats? Something like the Pegasus? Reptile? Mammal? Avian? Or a giant insect of sorts?

I used large papercraft dragonflies with my own Silk Road Elves for one particular battle. They were proxies for giant eagles, but I think they would work well for the Splinterwood.
I can't really see the Splinterwood Elves wanting to be encamped around somebody's old castle miles away from the Splinterwood, - so yes, siege engines are out.

I was trying to go for that LOTR Elven spear sword look they have in the first movie. that was pretty awesome! but your right cadia134 it does come off as a heavy two handed ax. it's really supposed to be ultra light so it can be wielded like the Klingon curved blade thingy ... I'm sure it has a name and I like Star Trek but I'm no that nerdy LOL ! maybe I'll try to trim it up a bit and make it look less cumbersome. I have decided that they shall fly on Nettel Bats! only for a few reasons! one Eagles or Hawks are to cliche and in my opinion ruin the LOTR story "why didn't they just fly the whole way? in both stories?" two in one of my favortie online comics of all time ... Atland by Nate Piekos (which he doesn't do any more BOO HOO!) they fly on giant bats and I just think that freaking cool! www.realmofatland.com/?p=1three I hate bugs. I live in Texas were the bugs are as big as dog... and not small ones. scorpions are cool as art on backpacks or even tribal tattoos until you have one crawling on your shirt in the middle of the night then they are not cool any more! when your house is infested with the nasties you don't think their cool anymore... In fact I hate scorpions more than any other insect ever .... EVER! but I'm not to fond of Dragon flies either! oh ya the Band Scorpion still rocks though! so to recap band good bug bad!

Oooooo I've just suddenly realised that you don't have any mages/magic casters, druid/druidess type figures. For any Elf race they would be absolutely essential.
And eek! to the thought of having scorpions crawling on you at night. (makes note to never go to Texas.)

EEgad! wildagreenbough your right I don't have any casters! shame on me and I can't imagine Weta's are any better than scorpions only they don't have stingers with poison in them though weta workshop is one of the coolest places on earth! If I lived in the Z land I would be banging on their door constantly asking for a job.

Weta Workshop rules! - check this thread out over at the DM Craft forum. linkI was bitten by a weta when I was a kiddie, but then I shouldn't have been poking it about. Generally they keep to themselves and much prefer hunting about in rotting wood for wood lice. Wetas are actually becoming endangered here in Kiwi land because ignorant folk tend to kill them on sight because they think that they are dangerous.

see I was going for a bardiche with a curved flair at the bottom so it can be wielded like a two handed weapon or if you grab it up to where the captain is, then it's a single handed weapon with a long shaft that can be used as a staff or a means of blocking if you deiced to ditch the shield at any point. you know ... after looking at the whole squad again I'm kind of liking it the way it is. their weapons do seem a bit big but Splinter soldiers would be trained in how to use it in the most effective manor possible. they would be super fast and yet like a pick ax, on the down swing they would just flip the wrist and let the shaft slide up in their hand to deliver a devastating blow. and if they slip the shield on the the forearm they can use the bardiche as a two headed weapon and when they crouch down their shield side would be virtually impenetrable ... if you think about it... then all they would have to do is pivot around with the blade side low and their opponent would be paraplegic in a matter of moments. Ya with a weapon like this and a shield it gives them lots of diversity. Also take into count that what ever general is on the field is going to back them up with archers I would do at least a one to one ratio on the field so that what ever units they were facing would have the ability to shrug off archers otherwise they would picked off before they get to the soldiers. so the soldiers are going to need a weapon that is a real nut cracker. those are my 2 cents anyway... a Bat'leth wielding bat rider .... ok dungeonmistress and hackbarth now I'm going to make that the standard melee weapon for all Bat riders just because you said that LOL ! Also I just finished the stander bearer for the soldiers squad! see it will be worth the $32.50 that were going to charge for it LOL that was a joke people ! we would never charge $32.50 .... it's $32.95! as if!

Wow. These are so good, and you are so prolific. You make me feel like a slacker... I hate to say it, but you have got to stop putting so many figures up here now. Get them to onebookshelf first! Just give us a teaser fig or two from each set, that way we know we need the whole set, but you still get to make your money. Anyway, you are awesome.

Thank you zygrott24 I really appreciate that! there are actually only a small handful of stuff on here just like you said. If you want the rest of the squad you have to go to one bookshelf for example ...... there are 8 models in the splinter solders models I only put three of them up here. there is 8 models in the squad so far. including a musician with a horn that looks like a screaming elf head and both male and female elves in more action packed poses. the spear men have a captain and 6 different models I think I only have 2 on here.... without looking. Eldufice is going to have 6 Baoiu hounds of which I don't think that their are any on here? there will be 5 or 6 dryads and only Qellduvinan is on here. so for just about every squad that's on here (except some of my early stuff) your not seeing the whole squad just the pieces that I am using to keep people interested. and it seems to be working. Thanks again !

Coming next week; Do you have a bit of descriptive text I can add for these fellows? A unique fraternity of Splinterwood Elves the Splinter Spears are highly trained to move as one and strike as one. They start their training when they are very young and once they are inducted into the Spears they are a member for life. By themselves a Splinter Spear would be a formidable opponent but as a group they posses the skill to turn the tide of any battle. It is not surprising that so many of the Splinter knights are pulled from the dedicated ranks of the Splinter Spears.
