Well, I was very touched at a dear old friend's funeral the other day. Ray was 95 years and 4 days old when he passed away. Needless to say he was also my oldest client by a long shot. Ray was a great guy who retired from the TWA Overhaul Base. We shared the same birthday, and I always took Ray and his wife out for lunch on OUR birthday. Until this year. When I talked to him the previous Thursday to see if he wanted to go to lunch on Monday, he said that I would need to call Monday because at 95 you have to take one day at a time. I called Monday and found out Ray had been put in the nursing home under hospice care. When I went to visit him, I took him this model I built. At slightly more than four inches long, you may not believe it, but I enlarged it before printing. I don't know how anyone builds Bruno's models at 1/300 scale. A couple months back, when Bruno mentioned he was doing a Connie, I asked him if he could do one in TWA livery for my 95 year old friend ... AND HE DID! At the 'Remembering Ray' table at the funeral, where they have pictures, awards, medals, etc., there was the Connie I did for him. For the last four days of his life, I hear that he was showing it to everyone. Never underestimate the little things you do for folks. Those little things may mean a lot to them. Here is the build.

Cool. My family flew in a Navy Constellation from Ramey AB in Puerto Rico to Charleston, SC, at Christmas 1959. This brings back really good memories.
