Thanks! I was thinking the same thing... thing is... I am going to make flat rooftops out of the ground tiles so you can make buildings out of the dungeon set (if you want to make stone building complexes... I was inspired by what people were doing with the Spot of Bother set and thought I should do that. Could be fun!

Paypals should have received an email with the link to the file. Whew... why do some tasks have to take so long?

Many thanks David. As a KS Paypaller, I'm happy to confirm safe receipt of both link and files. And there was I pleased at my progress in getting to the mini-edging stage before basing, the final stage of my Basic Set preparations... Just one thought on the new walls, after a quick check of a couple of the files. From a modeller's perspective, it would be useful to have a sheet of matching textures which could be used for wall-tops and wall ends, so instead of being simple foldovers, the walls could be made as truly 3D "boxes". I realise this may be too much extra work right now, and perhaps too far beyond the original intent anyway, especially for the ruined wall segments and archways, but as they say, if you don't ask... Like the ogre-sized stone block walls particularly

Are the tiles intended to be all 4"x4", so they can be piled up and picked "at random"? With the walls, it would look like you'd have a pile of special shapes, making it less "random" to choose the next tile. I haven't gotten around to printing the tiles yet - I messed them up TWICE (somehow printed with scaling turned on?!?) and so I had to step away for fear I'd throw my printer out the window. I saw your basic set pics and it looked like all the tiles were square, so I thought I'd ask your opinion on presenting the game and tiles.
I made the cutfiles assuming that it would just chop out 4"x4" squares, but with the walls, it seems like it'd be nice if I made them cut out the actual hall shape instead. I can go back and make another set of cutfiles that cuts out the hallways for fitting into the 3d walls...

On page 7 (last page) of the advanced set pdf it has a d6 table for using the wall shaped tiles in this and other games.

Nice, thanks! I hadn't scrolled down that far - I figured all the pages were walls!

Hey everyone! A very busy school life (read: marking exams and entering final marks for report cards) has been intruding in the completion of the prop sets, but I'm really pleased to say that the instructions are going well. My first response was, "this is easy to build, who needs instructions anyway?", but cooler heads reminded me that for some people it will be the first time they've built a paper throne so cooler heads won out. I'm also finishing up the rules additions. The additions will appear as a sheet. The door rules are my favourite so far. The props work equally well with the tiles as they do the wall sets. I'm using them in other games as well. My plan is to finish the instructions today and then finish trade dress, double checking, etc. and get the three sets to backers who supported at the props level in a few days. A few days after that they will be available on RPGNow, and similar sites.

Looking great! That seated demon holding the burning bowl, reminiscent of the gem-eyed giant idol on the cover of the original AD&D Player's Handbook from the late '70s - weirdest thing is I saw that whole cover design as a 3D cast model just a couple of days ago here. Wonders of the Internet!

And those three props sets are now out and circulating! PayPal KS backers should have had their links e-mails earlier today (I did!), while "ordinary" KS backers can click the latest update link on the main KS webpage for details. Those who missed the KS can pick the sets up over on the OBS sites (DriveThru RPG & RPGNow), where they're also now on sale. DT RPG links: * Darkfast Dungeons Props Set One: Forgotten Tombs* Darkfast Dungeons Props Set Two: Lost Treasures* Darkfast Dungeons Props Set Three: Fine FurnishingsDon't forget to check for the various alternative options among the layers, and the bonus walls & co among the later PDF pages. Much to enjoy overall, but I was particularly taken with the alternative chalk-drawn "magic circle" in Set Two, quite a simple design, but unexpectedly perfect for a summoning mini-diorama I've been working on lately!

I really don't want to be the one to ask. Is this dead?

The kickstarter campaign ended successfully and backers have been receiving their packages. If you are not a backer look for the products at Drivethrough RPG or wargame vault.

I really don't want to be the one to ask. Is this dead? Far from dead... I'm working hard on the Role Playing rules for this AND the Dark Depths Supplement. There is more on the way after that as well. Funny how things evolve once you start working on them.

I completely understand that evolution thing with the work on my project.. it seams like I start out with one simple concept for a part of it, and suddenly I have 3 to 5 versions to work on.. But I do have some of the Darkfast sets, and hopefully will get some time to actually build some of the stuff I've bought....

The Dark Depths is a Kickstarter only add-on, but there will be an undead expansion set called Realm of Shade coming out soon after that. It has playable ghouls and some pretty neato raven men.

Hi there, David Since my local print shop is offering discounts until the end of the month, I wanted to ask you if there is any chance that you are going to release any new material (Mice and Rats and Dark Depths if I'm not mistaken) before then. Thanks for the high quality stuff you released so far

Yes, two sets for Mice and Rats for sure. If all works out, the Dark Depths as well. It depends how long all this marking of essays takes.

I have some alignment issues to work out before I finish up the cards for this, but definitely two sets out before new years.

okumarts: Just a thought, but it maybe worth updating the KS page for this too - the last update there was back in September - as I'm sure not all the KS backers will be regular visitors here.

Well my friends, I was hoping to get the second Dungeon Monsters set out before the new year as well, but those Bugbears are slowing me down. It's coming in a few days, but in the meantime, I didn't want to delay the rise of the puppy kobolds. So here is the first set. If you added this as an Add-On in the original Kickstarter, please check your email for your link to download it. Happy New Year! www.rpgnow.com/product/169959/Darkfast-Dungeons-Dungeon-Monsters-Set-One?src=newest
