That's a forum issue that started over the weekend. Either a fix is needed, or we may have to help poor squirmydad upgrade our proboards service... Squirmy's checking it out soon.

If people want to make cut files that's great! I have not considered it myself as I don't use a cutter.

it has a freehand tool and if you use a tablet its fast to make cutfiles now.

One issue I've had is that I like to make the cutlines follow somewhat closely the contour of the minis, and @okumart's minis don't always line up that great with the front and back. I've held off on making cutfiles for that reason - not that it's impossible, it's just that it doesn't take much to make me procrastinate.
I'm getting burned out from making Fat Dragon dungeon pieces, though, so I could stand to work on some standees again. Is there a particular set or two that you'd like to see cutfiles for? We could work on them in tandem. I'm inclined to do the crypt crawl, orcs, goblins and ogres (in that order).

I always really loved the Okumart style but always held out from buying them because of the lack of cutfiles. Same goes for Darkmook as well.
Sure I can make them myself but I find myself purchasing The Brave Adventures minis as soon as they are released because I know in minutes I can have them in hand ready to go. That's what I do, I buy em and have the printed and cut within the hour. Its a very satisfying purchase when I can have then on my table almost instantly.
I highly recommend to the vendors that don't have accompanying cutfiles to either make them for there products or barter with someone even for their services. To me its a win/win. But its my opinion of course and I don't know how many extra sales can be gained, I do know for sure 1 sale though

I've held off on making cutfiles for that reason - not that it's impossible, it's just that it doesn't take much to make me procrastinate. My technique for generating minis cut-files works well with hand-drawn ones, like Oukumarts and Imperfect *s: I hand trace the front using the freehand curve tool (20-50 clicks) ending with an open shape - I then select the front copy and invert it and wiggle it till it fits the back well enough. My preferred basing method (split tab in a flat base) works with this great because I get two separate halves that I can align based on the cuts, not the alignment with a folded base. On very rare occasion, the back is very, very different from the front - in that case I continue the iteration by modding the back cutlines till I like it and then flipping that image back onto the front - repeat until done. I've only done this for new artists, folks who are using a "I printed a 3D model front and back - damn the foreshortening", and some of the very earliest hand-drawn sets. In this case, I often have to hand-color in some black on one of the sides...

I always really loved the Okumart style but always held out from buying them because of the lack of cutfiles. I recently assembled some of Okum's Plains Nations miniatures and I was really impressed by how much you get in the set! In my opinion it's definitely worth it, even if you have to cut them by hand. I don't have a cutter though so I cut everything by hand anyway. I definitely agree that it's worth making cutfiles though. And once you figure out how to do it, it only takes about 5 minutes/miniature.

Cutfiles for the Beasts & Barbarians set is now available. cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/6085/cutfiles-beasts-barbarians-hero-constructionYou will have to jump through the usual hoops to export your layered PDF to an image that you can import into the Studio software. Just make sure you note which layers you have on, so you can select the right cutlines. Oh, and set the cutlines to CUT EDGE, not CUT, or else you're gonna get a mess. I haven't tested these out yet, and it's unlikely that I'll be able to try it on all 12*27 minis that the set provides... Some of the figures go beyond the cutting area, and I'm sure there will be some wonkiness to the perimeter of the figures - that's just the price to pay. Here's some of them cut out and edged!

Unless I hear someone vote for a different set, I plan to do a Serene Fist before getting back to some Darkfast monsters. Update: Serene Fist set 3 is pretty much done. It's one of those sets where the fronts and backs don't line up as well as I'd like, so I need to actually print/test these before I say they're really done. Mostly, I'm worried that the scoreline isn't actually in the middle of the base... Update #2: Cutfiles are posted! cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/6108/cutfiles-serene-fist-ninjas-samurai

I still have a lot of gluing to do. I went a little overboard on cutting out ninjas... I've decided the next thing I'll try to do (unless I hear from okumarts that he's already got cutfiles in the works) is make cutfiles for the Darkfast Dungeons freebies that he's released. If you haven't hopped in on his kickstarter, please keep it on your radar! After the freebies, I'll work my way numerically through his Darkfast sets.

I'm almost done with cutfiles for Darkfast Classic Fantasy Set One: Orc Tribe. Anyone else finding these cutfiles useful besides me? If you're backing Darkfast Dungeons and you've picked up the Fantasy Package to go with it, then get a head start and get those orcs ready for battle! If you *don't* own this set already, here's the thing... It's $2.45 for 24 unique standees. 12 of them come in four color options. 10ยข per standee for a whole village of orcs for your adventurers to trip over. Go get yourself some orcy goodness.

The cutfiles are super useful man, they cut my time to produce a set of minis down by at least 2/3. Thanks for all your hard work!!!

The cutfiles are posted for the Darkfast Classic Fantasy Set One: Orc Tribe set. I'll be honest - I haven't tried to cut them out yet. I've got a backlog of things to edge and glue, so this will be in my work queue. If you try them out and have problems, please let me know! Next up... Goblins!

The cutfiles are posted for Darkfast Classic Fantasy Set 3 - Goblins and Hobgoblins. Y'all really should own this set. The goblins and hobgoblins are great on their own, but the bonus layer adds some troll baddies that are to die for! Hah! See what I did there? Now, I'm almost out from under my backlog of mini-assembling, so I'll start catching up testing out some of these cutfiles. For this one, there may be two gotchas: 1) I *think* the colored layers aren't perfectly aligned, so there might be some nudging you need to do when you import your graphics into the cutfile. 2) I tried to make the margins small enough to fit all the minis, but I hope that doesn't cause trouble trying to read the registration marks. I *think* 1/2" should be wide enough. Ogres are up next!

The cutfiles are posted for Darkfast Classic Fantasy Set 4 - Ogres. Here's the great thing about these sets of figures. It's not just that you're getting fantastic minis for a good price, but often you're getting figures that you just don't see much of elsewhere. In this set, you get seven ogres with a variety armor and weapons, but you also get some ogre women and children, and an elderly ogre clearly complaining about the kids these days. Rather than having your adventurers stumble onto a couple of ogres just complaining about nothing but mutton to eat, how about you have some ogre children playing in the forest stumble onto the adventurers! Or, your party is caught in some ogre nets, and are being held captive in their camp. Imagine the fun taunts the children would say as they fling rocks and bones at the cages holding your PCs. Great stuff, and now you can have them cut out in no time.

I just posted some cutfiles for the gazebo promo pdf for Darkfast Dungeons kickstarter. I think the promo is only for backers. If you are reading this prior to August 7, 2014 and you haven't bought into the kickstarter, it's not too late! Buying in at the $10 level will get you access to the stretch goals, but there are higher levels to consider, and add-ons as well!
