Check this out! www.silhouetteamerica.com/pixscanThe registration marks are on the mat! Think about the implications for cutting any printed image! Doh! Why didn't they/we think of this before? I am checking this out further.

I'm waiting to see what you learn. I just noticed that the mat sizes are smaller than usual (which surprises me), so rather than jump in, I'll wait for your report. [...initial enthusiasm drifting to cautious hopefulness...]

I have had one of these for several months and it works great. My only suggestion is to use it with a scanner. I have tried using it with a camera but just setting up a profile for the camera was a pain and took quite a few tries. And then taking a picture with the camera to get the whole page in was not always successful.
With a scanner, you just scan as much as the scanner can fit each time (I have to do 2 scans to get the whole thing in) and the program stitches it together automatically.
I have yet to have a scanned image not cut properly. I have the Cameo.
If you have the Portrait or the Cameo, I would recommend the PixScan if you download a lot of stuff that does not have cut files.

squirmydad - do you have anything to add on the subject? I see on Amazon I can order one for under $9, but I'm still not sure what good it would do me, since I can't think of any case of having an already-printed item that I need to cut. It seems like it'd be great for some craft ideas, but not so great for *papercrafting* where I'm going to want precise cutlines (and scorelines...) that line up with other pieces.
