This makes me want to create my own Non-Starter campaign called "Unrealistic Expectations and Granfalloons". I'll set a modest goal of $100 to fund the project, which is for nothing, since I have no intention of doing anything, I just want to be paid for doing nothing. All the stretch goals can be non-existent items; "At $150 I send you a pleasant dream. Didn't get it? Check your spam box, no refunds." "At $200 I send you the pre-alpha beta version of the rules, it's a blank pdf, you fill in the rules you like. Pen not provided."
IMHO one of the funniest KS ever (even better than "potato salad" one:) - I was following this one from the beginning, really a lot of fun and laugh:) Actually hope he will start another one - definitely worth to back-up/pledge!
... wait a minute... I'm not a native english so I think I miss something... This is clearly a joke but the $$$ are real? Really someone pledged this one?
Funny but... nonsense, and something like a slap in the face for many, unsuccesful, real KS.
Hope I'm not too rude.
Nonsense, but very straightforward nonsense. He did a lot of things right to make this a success; -Reasonable funding goal -straightforward funding levels -amusing and attainable stretch goals -constant updates, extremely amusing that give you a good idea of what the game rules would actually be like.
I don't believe there was any attempt at deception in any part of this, he really did give his mother a birthday card, and I'm sure he would buy a corvette if he got the funding. I kicked in $5 as I'm curious as to what the final product will turn out to be and I found the whole thing very entertaining.
stoff: These are the versions that i was talking about.

cowboyleland: I have a simple plan: never make money, never pay taxes! Kidding, I know taxes how we pay for civilization.

squirmydad: That's okay, so is the IRS. I'm pretty sure my tax return is one of the millions stored in trailers and unprocessed.

Vermin King: Well, my day has been spent on work and taxes. Am I the last forum member to do their 2019 taxes?

Vermin King: It does help keep you from picking up unintended hitchhiker files, though. It would be better if they gave a notification that you are attempting to download multiple files and to check the box in front of each file you wish to download

cowboyleland: I see now. Some new upgrade (windows? chrome?) blocks downloads of "multiple files" at a time. The miniscule notification that the download was blocked appears in the corner of the screen for a fraction of a second. "They" call this progress.

cowboyleland: Hm. Ok, turns out I have it on a back-up drive already anyway.
