The theme for this months HOARD is Land of Enchantment This can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of April, 2015. I know it's a ways off, April of 2015 and all, but I am trying a new approach to Hoards this year and opening up the submission threads early. This fellow is almost done, I believe I'll go with the more ink friendly versions, the ice elementals stand 3.5" tall and are based on a sketch by Jim Hartman.

Recoloured, this would work well as a non-icy crystalline monster, maybe even a gem-based one.

It's not April yet so you still have time to add your entry to these Ice Elemenatls -

So this horde is looking great already, is it still open? Do we want to stick Supervillians in here too?

Still a WIP, but this is what I got going this month. Hes kind of a supervillan, and hes not really enchanting, but there ya go... I will clean up the lines and back art for sure but the Genndy Tartakovsky style is pretty light on shading and I like that... I will also see if I can do a four arms mod if I have time

The very talented 8rad made up a couple of figures depicting my old D&D character, Daemir 9-fingered, and I thought I would throw him in to the hat for this horde. Given my (complete lack of) artistic ability it is one of the few chances I am going to get to give back to the community. An elven MU/thief with an artificial, wooden hand, "Land of Enchantment" seems the right place for him. You can download the pdf from drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ILcboyDVtFTnhLNHQ5RDZCdzQ/view?usp=sharingEdit: (I just enlarged that pic - took it with my cellphone in a dark room - and it really does not do the figures justice!!!!)

So I'd like to toss in a set of the video game style pixel art buildings I've been posting about, but I do have some questions regarding formatting. cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/6847/3d-pixel-art-fantasy-buildingsWhat method for uploading would be preferred? I'm planning on a sampler of five or six different versions of buildings. they're 3d I'm guessing that it'll be easier to have them in a different file in the hoard zip. I can do raw pngs, psd, or anything like that, or I can have them formatted as ready to print pdfs.

Cool, thanks! PNG's would be good as then I can drop them into a Hoard cutting template during the final layouts.

Png it is! Do you have a preference on how I denote fold lines and such, or is that something you like to add for consistency?
Also, how would you like instructions done up? Pictures with a bit of text should do since they're not too complicated. Png photos and a word document, or something else?

Pictures with a bit of text should do since they're not too complicated. Png photos and a word document, or something else? All of this is absolutely the designer's preference. What works for you? What best communicates the ideas and instructions you are trying to convey? A pdf of the final instructions with pics and text would probably be the most universally simple format for end-users.

So I was a doofus. 6 buildings almost ready to go, resized to 300 dpi for adding fold/cut lines. When lining up the outline I forgot that lines have *line weight* and therefor take up space... which caused a bit of misalignment. Other than that they look good though Should be up along with guide and test build photos in a few hours.

Great stuff guys! I can see it now; General Grievous leads a force of Ice Elementals to destroy the village but they find it defended by Daemir 9-fingered and the Elven Elk Knights! I'll get to work on it this weekend, along with the other two, much to do but it's all good stuff! On to the Clockpunks of May!

General Grievous is leading an army of Ice Elementals against 8-bit village! Can a half-elven rogue and the order of Elk Knights stop them? Only the die of fate can decide this... onemonk.com/fh-2015.htmlDon't forget to contribute an entry to the Clockpunk Hoard!
