Hmm... not sure if I get it right - so quick mock-up just to confirm - it should be something like these previews? (foundations, grass, window, metal elements, lamp are of course optional) mesper - It looks like the models are stabilizing and people are getting the feel for what we're creating here. :-) So, I'd love to see your finished versions these textures on whatever model(s) you like (make sure to grab the latest .PNG as some have changed slightly) Actually, you could just drop in some floors/walls on these and do your detailing and you're good.

Err... I was curious/asking regarding deadlines (some previous thread entry), so in case of any sort of issues or rush with this particular (superb IMHO!) project - I should probably better step off?

No rush. There are *no* current time guidelines. Take as long as you need. I suspect it will be months before this gathers enough contributions to be suitable to ship. :-)
Please, don't drop out. I'm looking very forward to your style being included in the sampler.

So! Who's next to submit a staircase? I've got some free cycles this weekend to build and test!
Let me know if you have any questions either by posting to these threads, or send me a PM.

So since I was down to the last 6 pages for my Piers Project, I decided to take a break and do the cleanup/rework on my Hollow Staircase submission. it is all completed, I have sent the link for the PDF to oldschooldm for approval.... Lots of layers, lots of options, allowed me to do some work on stone wall textures and ground tiles....

Sorry I've neglected this - I haven't sat down at my workstation for more than 15 minutes, so I've done nothing particularly useful in the papercrafting world for a while. This month is chock full of life's responsibilities, but I've managed to clean up my office so that I can hit the ground running in July!

Sorry to necro this, but is there any chance that this project is done and I'm just too dumb to find it?

It is not, but I've been planning to bring it back right after the Papercuts 2016.

It is not, but I've been planning to bring it back right after the Papercuts 2016. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using proboards I hadn't noticed this post until tonight. Is this project still a thing? If so, I'd love to submit a set of Dungeons of Olde-style stairs, if you're still accepting submissions. In fact, I'll probably make a DoO stone staircase using that one-piece template you graciously put in the public domain no matter what, so it's no extra work for me if you decide to include it--I'm already trying to figure out how to make it clip onto my dungeon walls, like my doors and other accessories do. Let me know here, or through a PM, if there's still time and/or room for me to participate, please.

I was thinking about doing the Derbyshire Hearse House once. Stairs are a must.

Wow! There is still interest! I'm back on it! :-) All submissions are very, very welcome! The more the better. Since I last updated this project, I've made another design and found a texture I can share for the 17x22... Treasure of the Broken Horde by Oracle Omega, on Flickr

Wow! There is still interest! I'm back on it! :-) All submissions are very, very welcome! The more the better. Super! Hey, is it within the project parameters to adjust your one-piece template a bit, to better fit into the Dungeons of Olde tile format, or do I need to stick to the template exactly as provided? I'd like to adjust it so that the staircase fits exactly in two spaces on a DoO tile, without a large side wall above the staircase. The general complexity of the model wouldn't change--I want to keep the entire DoO line super-simple to assemble--but some of the dimensions and one or two fold-lines would. Also, since the DoO tiles are set up for a 1.25" grid by default (with a 1" grid doable simply by printing at 80%), would it be OK to provide a staircase made for 1.25", with a note on the page to print at 80% for a 1" grid? If not, I could provide a 1"-grid staircase, along with a note to print at 125% if you're using the stairs with the rest of the DoO tiles (or no note at all, if it really messes up your vision for the product). Just let me know how to proceed, and I'll follow your parameters.

I built both the one-piece template (four wider steps) and the one you just linked (six narrower steps), and I like the way the wider steps support the figure base better, so I'll be going with that. I've finished adjusting the dimensions to fit the Dungeons of Olde tiles and grid, and have printed out and assembled a blank version, so I know it's working. I'm working on the textures as we speak, and will post the model and a pic or two in "play" later tonight (I hope...). I'll check the process thread to nail down the format information for the submission.

Here's the first finished Dungeons of Olde fold-flat staircase, in action, skeletons pouring down from the chamber above. This version is set up to fold flat, with a flap on each end to tuck the tall wall behind the staircase (the front left face in this picture) and the face of the lowest stair (not visible in this picture) firmly into place, stabilizing the stairs. When I include this piece in the full dungeon set, I'll offer this fold-flat option, as well as a rigid, non-fold-flat version with slightly different tabbing to facilitate gluing the end walls permanently in place. I've got a couple of tweaks to make to the model, discovered while building this one. Once those are done, I'll submit the finished model.

I've tweaked the tweaks to finalize the fold-flat version of the stairs, and have it working how I want it to. Here it is set up and (mostly) flattened out: I'll get this set up on a page and submit it post-haste. Follow-up Edit: GAHHH! Everytime I think it's almost done, I come up with another change to make it better. Now I think it will work better if I move the end-flaps to the tops (attached to the steps) instead of the bottom...so it'll be a while longer... When I started this, I was thinking, "I'll do that. How hard can it be to slap some stone texture on a template?" Survey says... "Harder than you think!"

Here's a link to the PDF that includes both the fold-flat and fixed versions of the Dungeons of Olde stairs as a PDF. Will this work for you, oldschooldm, or do you need another format?

Thanks for the submission! Thanks for letting me participate. Is this file workable for you, or do you need some other format? I certainly could produce a non-layered version that includes only the fold-flat version, if that suits the project better (with appropriate changes/deletions to the text, of course). Just let me know--at this point I can delete features pretty easily.

Thanks again.
