Decided to make a separate post for this in case people search for it in the future...
oldschooldm has been kind enough to make the cutfiles for the preview PDF's I posted up awhile ago, but had a question about a piece for the Ramps set that wasn't clearly identified:
The pieces circled in RED below are bands to wrap around the pier sections to act as stops to keep figures from sliding down. they are meant to be removable, so if you use the pier/ramp section in a different configuration, that the "stop" or anti-slip device will not interfere with the new configuration.
Given their narrowness I like to score these before cutting them out, especially the long score lines: ( these will be more clearly identified in the final product)
If you notice there are 2 textured sections, and one blank section. after cutting these out, I apply glue to the inside (non-printed side)
and then fold the non-printed section of the printed side in first:
and then fold the remaining printed side over and glue it down to make an enclosed, 3 layer thick band:
This is followed by scoring ( if not done already) and folding the 4 shorter scoring areas to make a loop:
At this point, I make a V-cut about midway along on of the free ends, about halfway through ( that will go on the underside) and test fit around a pier section:
The fit should be snug, but not too tight to allow friction to hold the band ( and future minis ) in place, but still allow it to slide.
On the bottom side I mark the uncut end to make a corresponding V-cut:
make the second V-cut, reassemble around the pier section and interlock the V-cuts:
Flip over, put on the ramp support of your choice, and PLAY ON! ( the figure used is fairly weighty and top heavy, coming in at 2.3 oz or 65 grams, and I really need to re-glue her arms on!)
