In anticipation of Save the Day. Using some Okumarts artwork I found on the internet, and with permission from Okumarts, please enjoy some characters from Gotham city. Hopefully more to follow.

I may need to write those guys up for the free Save the Day Playtest game. Might be fun to have Batman tossing some thugs around.

Mind if I slide those guys around and make it a layered PDF with registration marks? I mean, just in case someone feels like making cutfiles for them?

Hey David, I have an idea for a stretch goal for the KS... Do you know Damage Control? It's a fictional construction company in the Marvel universe that specializes in re-building areas that have been destroyed during superhero fights. (I believe Tony Stark hires them a lot...) And in Men in Black there is something similar with those guys that come in to create plausible reasons for the destructions after alien hunts... I really like this idea of a group of clean-up-guys. So, how about a minis-set of a group of workers for a company along this line for Save the Day? Specialized in either repairing the damage after fights between supers and villains or turning it into some kind of plausible desaster in order to keep supers a "well-known" secret ("Yeah, I've seen those guys in the pajamas, but ain't that a lil early for Halloween?!??"). Or the company could in fact be the real scheme of a supervillain: Being a business genius, he first destroys half the city to have it then re-built by a construction company he secretly owns. Kind of first trying to press money from the city with a giant bomb/toxic mist/poisoning the water supply, then having fun with the stupid supers who don't get the truth and then getting the city's money anyway cause they pay for the repairs... MUAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

That's actually a really cool idea. You've been watching some Daredevil?

I'll try making cutfiles for the new Save the Day preview set but darn it all if it doesn't include registration marks... I think I can get everything within the cutting area, however I get nervous (with good reason) when the margins get small. I might make the cutfiles such that you have to slice up the image and move things around -- there's plenty of white space on the page to have allowed things to fit comfortably with larger margins.

Less than 18 hours to go! We've blown past the $7,000 stretch goal (which I am pretty excited about). How exciting! I'll be working on fantasy art this weekend, but I'm so stoked to draw more superhero stuff it's nutty!

Jeez Louise! The Basic Rulebook Character Creation PDF went out with the attached Character Cards. I goofed and sent an earlier document as the final Beta rules. It's now fixed so backers make sure you have the latest download. I made up Aquaman... I mean Waterman after someone was asking how to go about doing that.

Holy Fadoodle Muffins Batman! This has been a really stressful exam/end of semester time, but I'm emerging somewhat and feeling pretty good about finishing up this darn Basic Rulebook. MUCH progress was made this weekend. I am keeping a progress blog on my own forums so people can keep up and provide input. I really think that Darkfast Dungeons works because of all of the feedback people gave me as I finished off the Basic Set. It could be as soon as next weekend that the Beta release of the Save the Day Basic Rulebook is in the hands of Kickstarter backers. General release will be set for the end of the month. I'm happy with the game and it is distinctively quirky in nature, but plays very fast.

Terrain tiles for Save the Day. I'm thinking these would be printed at 8x10 with destroyed version on the back side as well as terrain elements such as cars, dumpsters, etc. as counters. I also want them to be compatible with my upcoming Sinister Cities 3d building sets.

I also want them to be compatible with my upcoming Sinister Cities 3d building sets. Looks great, but if I may suggest to reduce the size of the tiles? If you want people all around the world having no trouble printing the ground tiles, you should perhaps cut all 8x10 tiles in half to either 4x10 or 8x5. This way, it does not matter if you use LTR or A4 size paper for printing, no scaling or slicing needs to be done...

OK.. good to know. I was going by the POD options on Drive Thru RPG. It really wouldn't be too hard to resize this (I am in very early stages for the set as a whole, mostly creating content I can move around and create streets with). I may set these up as two different products then. Thanks for the tip. Wouldn't 8x10 fit on A4 paper (8.5x11)?

This is what I was going by. I can print 8x10 on my printer just fine. I COULD have an optional 4x10 file available for people as well... it would just mean printing more times (more paper, same ink).

A4 is 210x297 mm, so (8x25.4= ) 203.2 by (10x25.4= ) 254 mm would basically fit onto an A4 sheet, BUT calculating the stupid "I'm a printer, dammit, and I will never ever print to the edge of any given sheet of paper"-margin to it results in a really tight squeeze, since it leaves a printable area of 200x287 mm...
3 mm might seem like nothing, but it is indeed a visible difference.

Any suggestions for the tiles? I was considering 8x8. Is this crazy-go-nuts? Or should I just bite the bullet and go for 6x6?
