Hey gang! Quite a while ago, someone posted somewhere on this forum about warrior princesses. I said that the idea didn't seem to have merit and so forth... Well, after careful reconsideration, I thought I would try a couple sketches. Along with Kane (he used to be an avid poster here), we decided to throw a couple concepts together, and I think they are going to work. The premise is to have these princesses (that may look familiar) be playable as characters in various RPGs, and of course, Deadly Missions. I am calling this collection, "DEADLY PRINCESSES." Here is the first offering, the SIREN. She is the princess of Merlantis, and can willing change from fish form to human form at will, she doesn't even need to trade anything (like her voice) for the ability to do so. The second featured princess is the MAGE. She is the princess from the Jin'Dan nation. Like the first, she wants to be part of a whole new world. The third is a princess from the northern area of New Haven. She is the type of princess that would rather be left alone, and when it comes to pressure of everyday life, she would just as well let it go... There are going to be eight princesses in this set. Please feel free to comment, offer suggestions and that kind of stuff. (Positive) Feedback is always welcome. Let me know what you think! You can also find more information on these, and see the figures come together on the Grey Matter Games Facebook page! Thanks for your attention!

Of course, I show something I think looks pretty good , and you post sketches that blow my artwork away ! Very good, btw! Appreciated:) But in fact I was referring not to artwork but the (generally speaking) Warrior Princess idea only! Well while (after many sketches and overall a lot of fun with playing around Warrior Princess idea) I've abandoned, at least for a while, this project, I'm glad that someone picked up this, quite universal let's be frank, but in overall funny and hopefully game-wise useful idea! Then (and I'm quoting myself here) your hand drawn and coloured semi-retro art style is really appealing! So I'm kinda excited to see the final versions of your Warrior Princesses

Well, a good friend of mine (namely you) encouraged me to be myself and trust my instincts, and do what I enjoy. I know everyone has their own style. I can see a character and identify the artist. I am still trying to establish my style, and once I do that ... I'll be on my way. I actually had the idea to release some villains as heroes, and then someone suggested doing some other ones. I figured if I am going to do princesses , do some classic, iconic ones... But with a twist that only I could pull off.

kiladecus, I too like your style very much, and I think a lot of other people will as well. I like seeing different styles that people have, and I have never had any problems with mixing different styles on my tabletops, as long as the player likes the representation I can handle more realistic mixed with more interpretive styles!

I love the idea! I'm just got back from directing a rehearsal of "The Adventures of Red Rascal" that is going to play the local fringe festival in June. Red Rascal is quite a bit like Zorro but the local princess likes his style and becomes a copy-cat vigilante calling herself "The Queen of Blades." So yeah, I'm kinda into warrior princesses these days. There are not any women in my game group at the moment, though we have had guys who decided to play girls on occasion just to mix things up and I like using female NPC's, so these have a practical appeal. Critiques: The Siren: the top outside corners of the . . ."bustier(?)" seem a bit too cornery. I think you should soften that line a little. I like The Mage but she seems a little static. It is funny how spreading the legs just a little, as you did with the Siren can change a pose from "static" to "solid." Though maybe she could be doing something more interesting, one leg lifted and leaning on her (oh so cool) cobra headed staff or something? I think The Cryomancer's head may be a bit big, and if you shrink it then her bobb might also need a reduction. I really like her pose. Ok, I'm a leg man, could the slit in her dress go a bit higher? Please? I'm assuming The Ranger will have a bow and be a bit "Brave"ish or "Mockingjay"ey? That is all I got. Thanks for sharing, Kila!
