Hey guys, a couple of years ago when I first got into paper minis and was the lurkyiest lurker that ever lurked, I found a PDF for some ratmen that I really dug. There were a few standard vermin, but also some bipedal ones, including one with some wolverine class and several that seemed to be operating a flintlock rifle as a cannon. Well I found this back when all I had was a black and white printer, and now that I've got a color one I'd like to make a new set. It seems to me that I found them on this forum but to be honest I could have found them anywhere. Do they ring any bells with anyone?

gilius made some excellent ratmen years back, but I don't remember the ones you are describing specifically. They don't seem to be in his projects thread, so I guess I'm not much help.

ill see if I can find a couple of the black and white ones I did and maybe they'll ring a few bells for anyone. I know i'm probably not giving the greatest description.

I have a pdf of the ones Gilius did (ratkinset.pdf is how it is saved on my HD). No idea where I got it from - somewhere on here no doubt.... It is Creative Commons licensed so there shouldn't be any problem with me sending you a copy, should there??? (Throwing that open to the legal minds on the forum.)
It has one of them with a giant musket leaning on the back of another (who has some sort of 2.5D pavise-like shield) so I think it is the set you are talking about.....

If you would send it to me I would appreciate it! That sounds like what I'm talking about.

The link to the pdf doesn't work. I think I have the gimp files on an external drive if that is helpful let me know.
Edit: 11 minutes later and the pdf does open. The first time I tried twice with explorer and once with chrome. Computer "Science"? More like witchcraft!

Glad you got it. I knew I had them somewhere and had spent ages looking for them - only to discover that I had them lined up in my "to print next" folder!!!

hey I don't mean to step on any toes here but I thought those rat men were pretty cool so I did a quick hot rod of them, re-positioning the troops for front, middle and back ranks also I made the champion stick out better, added a front and back for the flag and added a general ... I tried to keep it in the original art style but if I am making anyone mad I will remove the offending image

I just made them really quickly as the rat armies were kind of leaderless ... LOL if your relying on a skaven champion ratkin cahampion to lead your army your going to loose pretty badly LOL and you don't get any dice in teh magic phase so I created the general and the grey seer to give your group some hitting power and if the grey seer is level 4 then you can cast some nasty spells .... though to be fair you really need the bell..... hummmm the bell..... hold on a minute brb

ok this is the back platform with the rat ogre I added some extra length of chain because I haven't built the rest of it yet and I don't know how long it's going to be to the bell yet hope you like it... it should be pretty self explanatory but I will post instructions when I actually build this thing.

Thanks Ryan! for me it's not a skill it's a sickness LOL I still think i'm am quite the abecedarian... I would be further along but I had to run some errands and make dinner that's why I haven't done more. The framing and what not are all pretty easy, it's the characters that make it take so long. ok so here's page 2 this is the lower platform and the running boards that are the bracers for everything. next up the wheels and hopefully the ramming platform.

ok here's the first two wheels and one of the big ones in the middle with all the axels ... next page will have the other big wheel and the two in the back, Ill toss all this in a pdf when I'm done. Edit : here's the other wheels... that only took a few second

ok I took some time to build what I have made so far I lerned I made to mistakes 1 there is an extra tab on page two (will be fixing ) I'm sure you will find it when your building just trim it off no big deal... 2. the big wheel in the middle doesn't have it's axle centered as you can see in the photo. the fix is king of hard so I will just leave it for not. Honestly it's not really a big deal because there will be some much stuff covering the axle that you won't see it... but still it kind of bugs me.

I am really diggin' this. Just today I was thinking about trying the new Ratkin army of Kings of War. What great timing! Aaron, you can wip it out like nobody's business. If you could do the same to the rest of Gilius' rats it would take care of quite a few units. Hoard 22 also has a few ratmen from jabbro which would make a good starting point for mods. And that "Sorcerer's Death Engine" is looking very sweet. Keep up the good work!

well let me finish the screaming bell first ... then we shall see where this leads us. here's the front plate with the ramming spikes and the incense platform above it. I will be making the incense burner on a different page but I thought it would be cool if the burner was being tended by a plague priest. so here you go!

That's not a defect, that's a feature to provide soothing, massaging action as it rolls into action... besides, the cam like action it provides assists in the ringing of the bell.

I like the massaging action personally ... but that's just me LOL ok so to see what page 4 looks like built here it is ... note that the plague priest is off to one side because there will be an incense burner in on that platform.
