how about instead of townies... I make some warp stone humans that have been taken over by Skaven a whole town of them and your adventurers wouldn't know right away ... until they are in the pub talking about their next adventure and they start to notice that the people are taking an unhealthy interest in them .... then they have to fight their way out of the warp stone zombie slaves or they will become one of them! and then once outside the town they find an army of rat slavers waiting to jump them! then they have to fight off the skaven slavers!! ohhh this is getting good!!

so you want me to make some Skaven that have stopped all this to what ? go hang out a pub with some friends to catch a game? start a day care center??... you want Skaven townies Yeah, I'm kinda with you on this one. Rather than boring-peace-loving rats, my vote is for fighty-rats and more of them.

If I didn't mention this before I am making the blanket statement now that squirmydad can put any of this in the forum hoards as is his whim to do so! I would be honored to see any of it in the archives of one monk!

I would be honored to see any of it in the archives of one monk! That'd be cool. I can set you up with a Pigmi Games Guest Artist section for your freebies. If someone sends nice pics of the figs, like a massed ranks diorama, I'll add those to the page too.

sory no new models today I have been working really hard on another project but I will be back at it tomorrow ! instead I give you simple rules for the Skaven slave town encounter. ok so here's how it will go when your heroes enter the town the slave townies are under the direct control of the Skaven. the Skaven have to pull back so as not to alert the players. but the slaves will be using the Skaven leadership or LD of 10 to restrain the slaves from attacking them and eating their flesh! so the first thing you do when a townie is encounterd is roll 2 d6 if you roll higer then a 10 the townie attacks them if you roll under a 10 the townie ignores them (I.E. won't respond to them in any way) but will follow them like they are walking behind a giant stake. maybe even drooling a bit. for each turn the players are in the town the Skaven are slowly loosing control over the townies and the LD drops by 1 then they roll as a group 2d 6 on turn two against 9 if they roll higher than 9 they attack if not they just follow the players at an uncomfortable distance. at the moment the players are attacked weather its one the first townie or later the streets erupt with hundreds of townies and the players will have to fight their way out street by street. if the players aren't attacked right away, and as time goes on more and more townies start to follow the players until they are completely surrounded by townies. At this point you realize it's only a matter of time before there is a huge group of Townies and their LD will drop to 2 and snake eyes isn't likely if they have even made it this far... then boom! the attack is on and won't stop until they are out of the town limits they townies won't leave the town limits they can't.... If the players start to get creeped out and want to leave the town it will be really hard to leave because the streets are starting to fill up with townies. they will have to fight their way out. If the player are paying attention then they will discover there is a cloaked figure on a tall building in the center of town (the grey seer ) he's controlling all the townies if they can get to him (which will require fighting their way through huge hoards of townies ) and if they can attack him (he has lots of magic. treat him like a necromancer with plague and disease abilities) and if they can kill him all the townies will fall down dead... when the players make it out of the town they are going to be surprise attacked by the Skaven Slavers and a squad of clan rats. when /if they beat them then an assassin will pop out of nowhere to deliver the killing blow. if they survive that then the last twist of fate two rat ogers come crashing out of the woods and they will have the fight of their lives as Rat ogers are near dead and impervious to poison, flame and just about anything else the only way to kill them it with a good old fashion bludgeoning until they are just goooy parts twitching on the ground, but remember they are poisonous and have rot and disease about them. If the players survive this encounter they will have to get as far away from the town as possible as it's really a gateway to the Skaven under-hive and they will have to find an apothecary to clean and disinfect them..... sound like fun will be had by all!!
If any of the players goes down they are not killed but taken into the Skaven under-hive and the surviving players can either abandon them to become warp stone zombies or try and save them! by going into the under hive! dun dun dun duuuuuuuuuun!

I know I said I wasn't going to do any models today but I lied, Sorry LOL I took a minute to hot rod the Poisson Wind Globadiers. In the original doc there was only one. but in the codex it says you can have between 5 and 15 so I did a little shop job and made some dupes so now there is a page of 15 tada !

So I was looking at the clan rats and I was thinking they are pretty regimented and the real clan rats are pretty rag tag with a verity of wepons sooo I think they need to look more like this guy and I have about 6 more outlined I just need to color them up but I figured it would be nice to pop onto this thread and find another guy waiting for you

ok back to the screaming bell I was banging my head against the support stones for a while trying to make them slightly amorphous and stony looking but in the end I just made them into a box shape, spun it into a diamond shape and flattened the top it works ok and it will do. if some one else wants to hot rod them better feel free!

I figured it would be nice to pop onto this thread and find another guy waiting for you This has become so true for me! I now check this thread more than any sane person should. ok back to the screaming bell I was banging my head against the support stones for a while trying to make them slightly amorphous and stony looking but in the end I just made them into a box shape, spun it into a diamond shape and flattened the top it works ok and it will do. I would suggest treating it like you would a wheel but not round. Similar to the pieces in Lord Zsezse Works' Ancient Worlds - Megalith Circle (I'm sure there are other examples but that's just the one on my mind). (just demonstration)

This! A thousand times this!! lol!!! LMAO !! ok so let me get this strait, were talking about a race of creatures that are so evil that their entire purpose is to destroy and corrupt the world for no other purpose than they can, a race that leaves their young to fend for themselves and the strong ones survive to make it up the ranks of back stabbing, in fighting political corruption that is Skaven society while the weaker ones get eaten or die a miserable death. A race that eats and feeds on each-other both figuratively and literally, where they experiment on each-other to make huge near undead monstrosities capable of ripping down buildings or dying with a whimper in the corner, a race where magic flows through them on a level so powerful and full of corruption they can bring plagues and death of the most unpleasant kind to entire communities while feeding of the crys and sorrow of those dying, and trow warp lightning at children for fun ... so you want me to make some Skaven that have stopped all this to what ? go hang out a pub with some friends to catch a game? start a day care center??... you want Skaven townies ... ya alright, I'll see what I can do. These are really, really great if you're playing WHF... errr, Age of Siggerson, or Kings of War or that kind of thing, but actually the idea of NPC types is far more useful for those of us who primarily play D&D /Pathfinder kind of games. For example, in my game there is the Underhive- a huge ratfolk enclave beneath the town, with a floating market, a bloated queen, vivisectionists, poisoners, priests, spies, barbarian types and alsorts. These are beautiful, they really are, but I'd be unlikely to use most of them, and no more than one or two of each type. Besides, the Skaven are a specific IP of you know who- I think they're the only race that isn't getting rebranded in the new reboot- and we know how litigious they are so it may well be in your best interest to rename them.

fan art and I'm not selling them so no violation there ! I like the Zombie humans approach LOL Honestly I have only played D&D once and it was really weird and I have never played path finder or what not. I don't know enough people around here that are in to that kind of thing. Honestly it's all a bit to narrative for me. I like to create a scenario and then have two armies duke it out over the whole thing. characters come and go in the coarse of a campaign. Heroes rise and fall that sort of thing... It's like why be a storm trooper when I can be the entire empire. So I don't really get Rpg's it's not that I won't make ratpeople townies I will I'm just building a WHFB paper army first. I have models on my docket and townies are on there I promise ... since they will be useless for me what do you want them to look like? oh ya and age of sigmar is a dirty word around here LOL it's a crap game unless you know who makes some MAJOR changes. the game needs a complete overhaul. Instead of the formula one they were hoping for it's a 1985 pinto with a gas leak.

one additional humble suggestion, maybe some Ratkin miners/diggers? to facilitate their eminent emergence to the surface or maybe digging their squalid, horrific tunnels beneath their victims feet?

on no my Ickthus are still very much below ground .... what I have done here is a sad sorry test of what I'm capable of ... when my Ickthus finally see the light of day people will forget about this stuff that's the idea anyway. LOL

ok I know this isn't the right thread for this but I have been secretly building up a high elf army to help combat against the evil of the Red Queen as she is driving her armies against the over world! I don't know if you guys bought squirmydad high elf set if not you should have by now!! anyway I have made lots of little edits that make the army look cool (IMHO) but they are still missing some stuff one of them is the great eagle riders! sooo I had to make a whole set of them....I'm going to give it to squirmydad when I am done so he can add it to his high elf hoard but I wanted to wet your appetites for it sooo here's the sample unit !! these build just like my Netel bats ! I made them modular so you can build the eagle by it's self and even put the rider on something else or you can put them together like their supposed to be. they are colored to Fit Squirmy dad's High elf set perfectly ! let me know what you think!

Very cool. I'll have to give them a try (although there's nothing specific for elven war birds in Kings of War; I guess I could pretend they are Drakon Riders). I'm still working on cleaning up the "blighted" rats but I do have a fair number of ratkin spears printed awaiting further assembly.

well my intent is to have one rockshus battle with high elf/splinterwoods elves vers Goblins and Ratkin, all Isle of blood style! that's why I made the stone bases their 1 inch so they will fit in the movment trays. so the high elves that I have been messing around with are the Mayhem in paper high elf set that you can find right here! www.drivethrurpg.com/product/60452/Elf-Army-Basic-Infantry?cPath=8384_20279 squirmydad used to have a bundel where you could get all the high elves and a dragon came with it. so I got that and I am now in the process of Hot Rodding some of the units and messing with the status quo like the infintry champion and his body guard! and the javalin commander! and I added a tabbed base to the claw foot of the bolt thrower becuase the slots kind of fell apart , as well as Hot rodding the command crew a bit in WHFB the way the bolt thrower works is your roll 1d6 per bolt thrower to hit and if it's half range then it hits on a 3+ if it's over half range it hits on a 5+. If it hits then you roll 3d6 to get the number of wounds it will cause per bolt thrower... at 70 pts a unit it's pretty freaking expensive but if both hit on an optimal roll you looking at 18 hits with no armor saves on a 3+ if you shoot both bolt throwers at a 40 man rat quad that's at least 20 dead rats forcing a moral check and the rat kin have a very low moral, defiantly worth bringing at least one! I am actually working on the screaming bell tonight though LOL
