Had quite a few kobolds started in another thread but with only an iPhone I was kind of crippled in regards to how quickly I could turn them into something someone else could use. As I'm getting better with Gimp I've found better ways to work on them with my iPad, so hopefully I should be able to get the 30+ sketches of the little rat-dragons that I've had kicking around for so long. As I get more posted I'll add the gimp file in case anyone cares to mess with them or color them a different hue. What would be ideal is if someone could show me how to do a layered PDF so everyone could have neat-o kobolds of whatever shade they desire. Here's what I've managed to get so far tonight, Any criticism, comments or ideas would be greatly welcomed, Attachments:

For layered pdf's you need Adobe InDesign software, there is also a method using Scribus, but I don't use Scribus so I can't help you there. I'll look for my layering tutorial.

Probably would have to go with Scribus then because if I dropped a load of cash on software my wife might find new and unusual places for super glue while I slept. Three more kobolds to join the bunch. Probably need a bit more detail but I gotta keep my momentum going! Attachments:

Hey, these are great! Take a look at the hands perspective of Kobold Spearman 2: right now it seems he's bending the spear pole... from the pose i'd say that his left arm is more "forward" so his left hand should be seen from the "pinky" side. Your friendly neighborhood Parduz

Ooh, your right. I'm zoomed so far in on the pics to do the lines that I didn't even notice that. Good catch man. Thanks!

Got a few slingers. I always liked them as a minion from 4e. Something different than just standard archers, even though I've got some of those in the pipeline too. Long range and mid range artillery I guess, Attachments:

These are coming along really nicely - I love 'em!!!
Quick question - what colour are you planning on making them? What colour are the kobolds in everyone else's worlds....? Witht the One Monl ones I went with printing off the bog-standard red ones (out of the choice of all the variants) but I'm not sure they shouldn't be some other colour.....

I was going to do some grayish blue ones, just because standard D&D blue dragons are my favorite, but leave the line art available in case anyone wanted some other colored ones. I figure they're different colored by region, or draconic influence. At least in my campaign world they are.

I guess I am more "first edition" when it comes to kobolds - and think of them as more dog-like little critters. Like those ones that okumarts teased us with oh-so-long go I understand in later editions of D&D - 3rd onwards? - that they have becaome akin to the dragons and now have the colour of the dragon type they are related to, yes?

This dog makes me think of kobolds, ever time I see it - to the point that now some of the kobolds the PCs run into have names like Phteven, Phred, Phrank, etc.

My gaming experience is from 4e on, so while I'm aware they used to be dog things they'll always be scheming little dragon-geckos to me. Lol
