Hi Jenny,
Have you any intention to expand the other files to 30mm as well? If so I can see an Imperial Guard army marching across my tabletop real soon ;D
You are a star.
Craig.

Hey, that's great that the little girls will get something to do . Yes, I intend to scale up the rest of the troops too. It might take some time, at the moment all 15 mm figures on a single pdf-page are merged in one bitmap (and then imported into Corel Draw, scaled and labeled). By scaling it up, I have to split these bitmaps into several pages... yeah, I'm lazy... But first of all I'll upload the remaining 4 infantry sets .

Apologies for the long absence. But at least there are new bits and pieces for the 15mm all-female army . Most of the units are still resting somewhat unorganized in their original Photopaint files. As I said in my last post (oh... almost 5 monthes ago!), special weapons are on the way. And here it is, the first part of the special weapons: anti-tank companies for the infantry divisions... girls equipped with handheld anti-tank weapons and grenade launchers. pdf: Imperial_Special_Weapons_No.1_Anti-Tank_(15mm)_pdf.zip png: Imperial_Special_Weapons_No.1_Anti-Tank_(15mm)_png.zip Cheers, Jenny

Wow, this has been a long time without an update (almost a year ... ), so here it is finally: the progress on the Imperial Army is slow, but at least there is some progress . The army got colonial infantry troops and several support units (like gunners or flamethrowers). Below you can see a showcase of the colonial infantry girls. A few more units are in the making. The links to all the files (zipped pdf and png files) can be found on my homepage. However, even more fun than finalizing figures is to start some new ones . So last weekend I made the first basic parts of another exotic unit type of the Imperial Army: Ogre assault infantry. So far there is just this single figure and no backside yet. Cheers, Jenny

Glad to see you again I really like your style and art.... but it is so much original and personal that your minis are really not so useful without an opponent army So we can start to hope again to have two factions drawn by you. I'd be really courious to see you drawing men to support your female armies

Thank you guys! It's great to see the papermini community bigger and greater than ever . So we can start to hope again to have two factions drawn by you. Yes you can . In fact I had the plan to create an opponent army when I started with the girls. At the moment for that army nothing is done yet. Well, maybe I can at least come up with some first sketches soon. My wife really likes the all female troops, she's pestering me to build her a full army in 30mm Hah, I almost forgot: a year ago I had the crazy idea to put together a compilation of all my female units available at that time. I added slightly modified vehicles, guns and a few modded troops from the awesome arsenal at Juniorgeneral and posted the compilation in the JG forum (yeah, my girls and the JG stuff don't mix that well, but I did it nonetheless ). I think it's ok to give the link to the compilation here too. Of course, all credits go to the great authors over at Juniorgeneral, the original vehicles and stuff can be downloaded there for free. Imperial_4th_Army_v.2 (pdf) Imperial_4th_Army_v.2 (png) As I said, the idea was rather crazy... with the pdf/png files above you will get the whole 4th Imperial Army consisting of 6 army corps with 18 infantry and 4 armored divisions, altogether 1170 girls (including one Field Marshal and one Colonel General), around 200 vehicles and 40 guns. That means 62 pages of 15mm stuff ;D. And the order of battle is here: Cheers, Jenny

Thank you . Btw., the first step to an opponent army is done. A test sketch can be found in the FAN ART Members Exclusives forum. When you see the guy, you'll know why he is in there . Cheers, Jenny

How do you crank them out so quickly?

How do you crank them out so quickly? Yeah, sometimes I even impress myself . It's all about modularity . Mainly in 2009 I've created quite a stock of modular figure parts like heads, headgear, legs, packs, pouches and so on. To come up with a new "division" is an easy task now: first I pick the parts to build about 15 to 20 different figures including officers, machine gun crews, radio operator etc. Of course also a few new parts have to be created for each new unit, like the sombreros and caps for the Mexeluine girls. Different versions with different headgear are also easy to assemble thanks to modular headgear. Next step is to make the page layout with the basic figures, e.g. 1 x headquarters, 2 x machine gun crews, 2 x anti-tank team,... Then the figures get their coloration (before that, they have a standard color and all girls are bleach blond ). Again this is easy due to the simple shading of my low-res 15mm figures. With color-mask and bucket tool a new color scheme can be applied with just one mouse click. Each color variation gets it's own layer in Photopaint and is exported as bitmap, re-imported into Corel Draw (for adding text) and finally each page of the Draw file is exported again as png. Well, that's it basically. It's really simple . Cheers, Jenny

That's crazy. All of my forays into modularity have left me frustrated. Perhaps I just need to improve my methods, but I am running out of patience with it.
I think for a little while I will go back to doing single figures.
Keep up the good work.

Viva the Revolution!
Where is Pancho Villa?
I agree, modularity is a must. I never would have gotten my space men done without it.

Here are the different parts of a typical Imperial girl. The simplicity and low resolution help a lot . The parts are already colored because this girl was a test run for the Mexeluine army. Usually the colors are applied to the whole unit. Cheers, Jenny

That's exactly how I did mine. I did do the arms and weapons separate, but I'm sure you must do that too.

When I started with modular figures, I wanted to keep it simple, so the figures had only three parts: head including headgear, body including arms + weapons and legs. A lot of poses were created that way. Although I'm not happy with that approach anymore and although I'm going to add poses, where weapons can be changed easily, I'm lazy and still use the fixed ones quite often . Cheers, Jenny

This is some great work. However, could you put these up on some other hosting service? eSnips wants me to install their downloader and, frankly, I've never heard of them before so I don't trust them.
I'm a bit paranoid about things like that.
Again, these are great.

Sometimes you must to do this one or two times. Excuse for my bad english.

Exactly, just click on the zip-icon and you can download the files without this eSnips downloader. eSnips wants me to install their downloader and, frankly, I've never heard of them before so I don't trust them. I'm a bit paranoid about things like that. Same here . Cheers, Jenny

I'm going to update the oldest files of the 15mm armies. Here is the first one which got a major face lift: the former "Imperial division No.03" now with new camo scheme, headgear variations added, support weapons units included and some minor (color-) corrections . It will take some time until all the files from 2009 are updated (well, I won't do the updates on a regular base ). pdf version: Imperial_Infantry_Division_No.2_v.2_pdf.zip png version: Imperial_Infantry_Division_No.2_v.2_png.zip Cheers, Jenny

No excuses necessary. That was a substantially better than some I've seen. And thanks, that worked like a charm. Don't know why I didn't think of trying that myself.
I foresee a great deal of cutting in my future. I should stock up on X-Acto blades...
