Hello I am thinking of getting one but have a question. I do not have a printer. I take all of my printing up to Staples to have it done. Can I create the pdfs with the necessary registration marks and then take them up to Staples to have them printed?

Yes, it's possible. Be super careful that you're printing the right registration marks, though. For example, some PDFs may only have older Silhouette SD reg marks (with 3 "L" marks) and if you have a Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette Portrait, it will not read those marks. You can patch them after the fact, but it may be easier to fix them before printing. I don't know. Some PDFs will have layers you can toggle to select the correct registration marks. In that case, just make sure the folks at Staples are printing with the right layer options.

Mproteau Thanks I have some 30 year war figures. i will set up a page and print off one and try it out. I have one more question. Which would be the best cutter to buy for what we do. i would be printing of figures and war game terrain.

The cameo supports wider prints, but the portrait should work with a4/letter sized pages. I own a cameo, not a portrait, so I only have experience with that mode. There are other cutters on the market but this sort of thing requires one that supports reading registration marks. I think there are a couple brands recently supporting this but I haven't heard of anyone using anything other than a Silhouette cutter.

Thanks again I can get the cameo at the local Michaels. I will check to see if they can get the portrait. When searching I noticed that Walmart in the US carries them. Next time I am in Maine will have to stop in to see if they have it.
