I'm considering getting some of these sets. www.thevirtualarmchairgeneral.com/610-Mean-Streets-Main-Page.htmlBut before I do, I'd like to hear if anyone have tried it and what your opinion is? How does it scale, what about texture art, etc.? It looks cool although a bit dated on the photos, but I'm curious to hear if anyone actually tried it out.

^ That's exactly why I'm asking. Had it been at OBS, and the product was sold at the average OBS price, I wouldn't hesitate. But at 10 dollars a set, I'd like to read a review or two first. I wouldn't think twice if it was FDG or Dave Graffam, or WorldWorks, for that matter. But I have no prior experience with this guys stuff, and I so far haven't been able to find recent reviews of his stuff anywhere on the interwebs.

Imho there are so many alternatives. Better quality and lower cost.

^ Rhannon, is that an opinion from someone who actually bought, printed and built the models? Or are you just going by the few pics on the site?

Imho there are so many alternatives. Oh, and a question: Alternatives? What other pulp era style urban buildings are available out there? I haven't been able to find any myself, except for that armchair guy (and a few of Stoelzel's models).

I thought precisely about Stoelzel's models. Not everyone pulp but many are adaptable imho. Very often they are deals ( of the day ) on WV. At this time. if I should "try" some models. I'm very tempted by Reviresco models/buildings ( on WV ). They have a nice "1930’s Rural Gas Station" ( and others ) Also capital city by FDG could be adapted or some buildings by Finger and Toe ( hust imho ) ... But I couldn't find anything specific like this full range.

Yeah, if you go by the pics, I agree. While I kind of like hand drawn textures on models (I kind of like Microtactix too), they would look a bit out of place when mixed with models of a more modern design. However, I noticed that most of his building sets comes with a 'new design' (whatever that means), and that the pics of said new design are pending, so I'm not sure how much the photos actually tells us. As for the price - I agree that it's a bit on the high end (that's why I would like to hear a review before I buy, should I choose to do so), but considering that you actually get 3-5 building models with each set makes the deal seem worse than it really is, methinks. I don't see how it differs significantly from most bundle offers at OBS, for instance.
