Trying to convert the cutter files to a vector format so I can use my laser cutter.
But have not been able to get it to work.
Anyone have an idea.
Tried a couple of programs but they would not read the new cutter files.
Corel Draw and Inkscape are how many cutter files are made and that is what the laser uses, so it should be possible.
Thanks Lee

So my question is what program should I use to get a vector file out of the cut files.
Hate to buy a cutter when I have a laser already.
My hope was to be able to use some of the great buildings being made for card.

Hmm, the Silhouette Studio software isn't really set up to export. It will import DXF and graphic formats to create cut-files, but the only real export option that I can see is to print as a pdf.

i have no answer but for me the important information is, to provide dxf version of cutfiles so that users like you can use it in your laser cutter. so thanks for pointing this out.

This site does a pretty good job of converting to SVG: www.ideas-r-us-software.uk/FileConverters/SilhouetteStudioConverter.aspx I recently bought a cutting machine (Brother ScanNCut SDX125) completely unaware of the community built around Silhouette products, and am using that site to get SVG from *.studio files. Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread. Edit: 10 free conversations per day, per public IP Address.
