Bah. Can't try it *right now* because drivethrurpg doesn't seem to know that I own certain Darkfast Classic Fantasy sets... Thought okumarts had helped me rectify that a while ago... gotta follow up with him. Also, I just learned of another Armageddon Outtahere Set that I apparently don't own?!? I'll fix that! Anyway, my plans (maybe tonight?) will be to take a hipogriff from the classic fantasy high elf set and combine it with a horse, perhaps from the whiplash trigger sets.

okumarts - I fear it's my mistake. Late last year, we exchanged some messages on the handful of sets I got through your kickstarter and the Lord Zsezse Works kickstarter. Those came straight through some links, not through dtrpg. I dropped you a message on okumartsgames.proboards.comI might be able to download things from the kickstarter emails, but I'll be heading home soon and I'll have all the files there to tinker with. Speaking of kitbashing, I can totally see your goblins getting repainted with pumpkin heads for a halloween set.

Another rough night at work, so I didn't finish this until just now. Hippogriffs don't exist in Palladium Fantasy, so I had to go by a Google search for putting this together..

Here's a lame mock-up of what I was thinking for a half-horse half-griffon: I'm not sure I'll have time today to futz with it or not (or even if it's worth pursuing). I wonder if David has other horses in his other sets... I don't recall seeing any... My biggest problem was gonna be getting the horse legs to line up with the eagle legs, but I realize now that I can lengthen the eagle legs to match the horse and call it "done". (then I have to somehow make the exact same modifications on the back side... :-P What I really need is for okumarts to have more time to make me sets for every monster in all the monster manuals on my shelf...

I wouldn't sweat the length of the legs, just put a little tilt on the tab and show him as rearing up. Doing backs is usually easy, you just make a copy of the front and fill in some stuff. On this one: replace the beak and eye(s) with feathers (copied and pasted from the neck is fine.) Then you can kind of "connect the dots" on the back legs and lighten up the original back and darken the original front (sample the colours already on the model) and you have that solved. For the front talon the highest claw is going to be hidden all together. You can pretty much guess what it should look like from the back. Connect the dots or continue lines a necessary. Flipping all the "rings" from " ( " to " ) " [if you see what I mean] will seal that deal. For the right talon one "finger" is going to cover almost all the rest. Use one wing as a resource/model for the other to flip them around and you are done. If you are copy/pasting start from the wing tips so that you are pasting on the overlaps. (Did that make sense?) In theory you should do a little work around the rump and tail but I don't think anyone is going to notice and the world really doesn't need another horse's a$$

Though, in theory I should be able to just take the backs of the okumarts minis that are already there, line them up and be done. That's the path I'm going to take first, since he's already done the hard work.

Well, good news. I apparently managed to NOT SAVE what I had done and GIMP crashed on me. :-P Wait. Did I say "good news"? Ha ha ha. Sigh.

I'm seriously considering taking some high-res pictures of some of my Kit-Bashed Miniatures I made and making them into Paper Models... I have a Chimera that I am rather proud of.

You still have a few more days on this theme. And remember, if you can't finish on time, we can add it to another Hoard later

And just under the wire.
Improved version now a few posts down.
1. I glued a piece of black construction paper to the back of my model before I cut it out but you could use a marker to do the "back" of the legs and colour the base. 2. Score along the bottom of the feet on both sides. 3.Cut out carefully, including the little lines on the nose that let the front of the nose fold down. (If this is too fiddly for you just trim those parts off.) 3. Curl the model and hook the tabs into each other to keep it curled. The model will sit flat if the hooks are on top of the base, not under it. 4. Pinch the nose a little bit to narrow it. Fold the front down and tuck the flaps in. 5. Enjoy your model.

I was needing to get some figures to go with some photos I need to take this weekend, and this will be handy. You don't happen to have one standing on his back legs only, do you?

As it happens real life has stepped in the way for that project and it was either do it this weekend or shelve it (for the foreseeable future). I would have liked to see it put together. It looked so good in my head
