Folks seem to be anxious to pin things down a bit, so I am starting the 2016 Forum Hoards thread
I'm going with MProteau's suggestions for January and February (He deserves the honor since he stepped up to do the formatting, photos, cutfiles and uploading)
FH 137 January Monster Manual Monsters FH 138 February All Things Irish FH 139 March Landlubbers Need Not Apply FH 140 April Out and About FH 141 May Robots vs Power Armor FH 142 June Pantheon of the Gods FH 143 July VSF and Steampunk FH 144 August Star Tales FH 145 September Halloween Wars FH 146 October Medieval Mayhem FH 147 November Christmas Wars FH 148 December The Hoard of the Procrastinators
We've had suggestions for Pantheon of the Gods and Robots vs Power Armor
Feel free to post suggestions. I am kind of leaning towards having December being Finish up Those Stalled Projects so You can Start 2017 Fresh

What about Outdoor Adventures? Options for monsters too big or too unlikely for dungeons, plus adventurers in outdoor gear, maybe riding horses/ponies/mules, tents and other campsite gear. I'd suggest it for midsummer, but that really depends which hemisphere you're in! June looks more likely to be without a Hoard currently though... Plus there's the fairly obvious Fifth Edition Monster Manual option, if we're going further down that road Happy to add a "Like" to support the Pantheon (or indeed Panthea) of the Gods too. And as March is still open for suggestions, how about Irish Mythology in honour of St Patrick's Day? Fomorians, Nemedians, Fir Bolg, Sidhe and Milesians from the Invasion Cycle alone, for example, but there are plenty of other options, including deities, and even magical trees, barrow-mounds and standing stones.

If we are aiming for St. Pat's Day, maybe we could do Irish Mythology in February, and move Third Edition Monster Manual IV Monsters back a month. That way the hoard submissions would be completed before St. Pat's arrives.
Some of my favorite scenarios in gaming was on Out and About adventures.
We are getting some great suggestions. Keep them coming.

I second the outdoor adventure idea. anything and everything for a great outdoor trek. Also what about something like a seafaring theme, merfolk, sea monsters, rafts, dinghys, buoys, anything above or below water that might seem fun (in a game, not real life) , maybe a message in a bottle thrown from the guy marooned on the deserted one palm tree island.

I see that I'm going to have to put my thinking cap on for creative names. I like the water concept a lot. One of the things I keep thinking I'd like to do is Shanghai harbor. During the time of the tea wars, it had a mix of Oriental and Western buildings and craft. An All Wet theme needs to be thrown in.
No one has suggested Modern/Future themes, yet. We usually have one in there each year. Do we feel pretty well set on that?
Also, no one has mentioned Victorian Sci Fi/ Steampunk.

If you're in need of a name how about "land lubbers need not apply"

January is no longer a specific manual.
Calling all monsters!

We still need to find topics for some of the months...

OK, August's still free, and for anyone interested in astronomy, it's often considered the month of the annual Perseid meteor shower. So what about Star Tales? Maybe fantasy living constellation figures - like on old star maps, with bright stars at their joints and weapons - through Cthulhoid "Thingies From The Stars", to angelic star-warriors battling one another (as in William Blake's "stars threw down their spears and watered heaven with their tears" (tears of fire, and we're back to meteors = shooting stars of course!)). But of course, "Star Tales" could also encompass science-fiction...
Anyone else remember the comedic battle between the constellations in Piers Anthony's "The Source of Magic" (Del Rey, 1979)?
It would work at any time of year, naturally, so wouldn't have to be tied to August.
Maybe something harvest-related for the northern autumn besides Hallowe'en too - medieval peasants through the archetypal Grim Reaper "harvesting" in a different fashion, say? That could include some scenery - apple trees, for instance, and autumn foliage - and scarecrows being moved off the fields for ploughing (or moving themselves off the fields - if that's not too Hallowe'en-ish...).

I added the 2016 page to the site. Nice lineup for the year, are you going to create threads early like you've already done for #138?

My plan right now is to put up the one for two months out when I start a countdown towards the end of the current month. We'll see how that works out.

Just come fresh from the Irish Hoard page, where discussion of Irish High Crosses made me think also of the Pictish symbol stones - some of which also had a large cross carved on one side of the stone slab.
And that made me think of a Picts hoard, or maybe a Picts and Scots one instead?
That could encompass everything from "historical" (-ish, given how little is known) ancient Picts, their brochs, carved stones and symbols, maybe even their chariots, through the Irish "invaders" the "historical" Scotti, through to the medieval-ish Scots, including the various fantasy versions of "Highlanders" and "Picts", plus it could also involve mythological Scottish creatures and monsters - brollachan, kelpies, selkies, Nessie, etc., etc.

I think we can have enough wiggle room on 'Irish' that Pict, Scot, Celt, etc. would fit.
Would a Vehicles Hoard work? If not, I have a nifty idea for Papercuts.
And how about one called 'Filler', which would just be anything at all? Odds and Ends that may or may not fit in with other Hoard themes.

About the "filler" one, don't all hoards have the statement "... feel free to submit miniatures off theme"?

I know that practically anything can be placed in any hoard, but a hoard that specifically is set up to be all things to all people sounds like it might be fun. Or not.
Instead of vehicles, how about Transport? Vehicles, teleporters, 2D and 2.5D transport beasts. Dunno. I'm just throwing it out there

Okay, I felt like I needed to put something in the list for October and December, so I just threw in a couple that I have some unfinished projects in the hopper.
October is now Medieval Mayhem
December is The Hoard of the Procrastinators
I am open to other suggestions
