Frank Herbert's Dune is one of my preferred sci-fi sagas. Until Since I was a kid ( about 40 years ago ). During this time I made a very big mental effort, for me ( I don't like reading novels in foreign languages ), and I started to read in English some novels and short stories by Herbert's son that I had ever read before. Obviously the next step was to take stock of board games and RPGs ( and various papercard accessories ) set in this beautiful setting. The ultimate aim was to find a conversion for Savage Worlds rules. Result: almost desert ( to stay on ). Also because it seems that Brian Herbert doesn't grant rights for many years. There are only a boardgame ( Avalon Hill - 1979 ) and an old ( very good from reviews ) RPG. "Dune: Chronicles of the Imperium" by Last Unicorn Games ( ... which they published in a limited released of just 3,000 copies ... in 2000 ) ... there are also something minor and a few fan-made products. ... but compared to this saga's importance all this is almost nothing imho. And nothing for Savage Worlds. However from my first unsuccessful search came out a good Spice Harvester Papercraft model. ... and a very complete fan-made RPG ( unfortunately only in French, but perhaps some can easily read it ): Imperium - new versionImperium - previous versionBoth with many gaming supplements.

If it makes you feel better, most english speakers found reading Dune to be a big mental effort too, since a significant portion of the words in it aren't english. My brother still moans about the Gom Jabbar and Prana-Bindu and Powindah and Tleilaxu and Sardaukar and Kwisatz Haderach forcing him to keep a bookmark in the glossary in the back. I, for one, really loved the book and the universe... Now we patiently wait for a decent movie adaptation.

Some "Junior General" style paper minis. For a number of reasons I don't like ( and this is a euphemism ) Junior General paper minis ( too small figures, no back art, jerkily - - drawing ... ) But as an exception I really like Tulius Hostilius' figures. Not only this author has a huge collection that constantly increases but he have a historical and cultural background ( about non historical subjects such as sci-fi and other ) equally immense. And see that it's always a pleasure for me. Shame that he doesn't draw 28/32 mm. paper minis because he would have a huge potential imho ( or even just provide larger file size ). anyway ... and other ...
