My wife is a toy train enthusiast (which I distinguish from the term model railroader, as there no desire on her part fret over the details of scale and realism that most scale modelers care so much about...). Buildings for model railroads are expensive, even in N-scale. Thankfully, I started hanging around here and picked up some good paper building tips and great models to choose from. So far, just a couple of Dave Graffam's models on my wifes's coffee table layout. They fit perfectly with the resin railroad buildings on the right. She had fun picking some buildings when I was purchasing a few on Wargame Vault. Other than Dave's models, we also picked up some of Mr. Hotz's Whitewash City. I printed the Cafe at 34% using Dave's chart for sizing, and they all work well for her layout. This is a big win for me. I have some great buildings for my wargaming in both 28mm and 15mm, and my wife is happy she has a near endless supply of buildings for any N-scale layout she wants to build. Then my kids are also happy, because they like to play games and building things (as well as destroy them...). So, thanks everybody here! Your work is paying off and making for happy customers!

What era and locale does your wife want to do? I can probably point you in the right direction on some RR related items. Some N-scale scales up okay for 28mm, but most don't. Anything that is 'off' seems to multiply the errors. One reason I do most of my models smaller than designed is that it hides a lot of my errors.
