At another forum, a member requested Dave Winfield to do a model of the car from IRobot. Frankly, I didn't remember the car well until Dave posted a photo. At that point I remembered PH3DM's model that I never built due to overlapping parts on the pdf. ph3dm.maquettes-papier.net/index.php?category/Maquettes-papier/Voitures/Voitures-1:64I sent the guy the link to the model and explained how I would do the repaint he wanted, and he responded that he wondered if I had ever built it, so I fixed the parts issue and enlarged by 10% (which is my standard way of making a 1\64 model more compatible with 28mm. I told him what I was doing, and he requested I would do a build thread. Since Dave said he would do a model of the car, but it wouldn't bump anything out of his immediate priorities, I decided not to do a repaint, but go ahead and build the almost standard PH3DM model of the RSQ. Then I decided that Dave might back out if he saw there was a model of the RSQ already out there, so I'm posting it here. Maybe some day I'll enlarge it a bit more and do the repaint, but I doubt it. The last photo shows how two models in the same scale can look awkward together. Actually, I'm impressed with how he captured the shape of the car well (I really like the look of the fenders), but it is pretty stinking dark and to get the tabs to line up when installing the base piece, you have to fudge a bit to get it to sit straight. Probably due to accumulated errors of creating the sides out of five parts. But here it is for better or worse

I really like that he (and you) captured the curved organic shape. That is hard to do in a paper model!

Okay, I couldn't resist. Enlarged another 20%,enhanced brightness and contrast, then darkened and added contrast to taillights, grill, headlight housing and wheel inserts.
Probably shouldn't post without PH3DM's permission, but haven't seen him on the forums in years. I probably need to reduce the blue-ness of the metal, but I think I'm calling it good enough for me.
I'll let you see how it comes out. Just keep in mind, this is NOT my design. It is only an enlargement and contrast and brightness adjustment. And I wouldn't even do that if it wasn't a free model.
If you know how to reach PH3DM these days, let me know

Color me disappointed. I sent my changes to a guy that was pestering me for it after he saw it. He never did a build thread of it, but now I spot it on one of the pirate sites (I admit, I have downloaded some very old models from there that just wouldn't be available from legitimate sources, but the main reason I troll these sites is to spot models being posted that are designed by people I know).
Not only is it definitely my recolor, but it is attributed to someone other than the guy I gave it to, or me, or the original designer. And I had previously thought fairly highly of the individual it is attributed to. It may have been in error for the attribution, or it could be an intentional misleading (after all, they are pirates).
I guess I should be thankful that they didn't plaster my name on it.
