It's been a very eventful summer. I can't believe I managed to get TWO Eldritch Horror sets, a Save the Day Adventure out, A Serene Fist set, Anime Hack (where the heck did THAT come from?), Contraption Pages (and a second set which is just about ready to scoot out the door), AND TWO Villain Books for Save the Day. Personally, my mom has been sick off and on, giving us a scare that she may need to move out of her house and go into long term care. There were baby showers and family illnesses to contend with. I refinanced a mortgage that took 4 months and was VERY stressful with lots of hoops for me to jump through. I started the Print On Demand process (that is really stressful for me. I apologize for that.) My daughter got engaged! I got engaged! Real life has been both frustrating AND exhilarating in the past couple of months.
To be honest... I'm feeling spent. My gaming crew is excellent and our weekly adventures continue to inspire me. I am excited to finish off all the sets I have started from the Kickstarters. I have a list and the list looks pretty doable now. I've been picking away at stuff as the summer gave me time to do it. Usually I was waiting for a phone call or a follow up email about something in real life and my nervous energy needed an outlet. I think the combination of stress in real life and not resting is making me feel like I need a recharge. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I don't want it to be an ordeal that punishes me. I have been sleeping longer and that has also cut into my creative time. Damn sleep.
Other projects will appear out of nowhere because they are important in the development of the existing queue. I find something like Star Sailors or Anime Hack helps me refocus and enhances my skill. Save the Day would not be the books they are today without the Star Sailors book. I have said no to 90% of offered freelance work, but a few things sneak in (like the fish men and two upcoming sets for a Savage World setting). I am also painting miniatures, building paper terrain and planning my next bunch of Monday night games.
So the plan is to attack the remaining Kickstarter projects and the other projects. This is the schedule for the next couple of weeks (aside from starting up teaching full time again on the 6th):
-Far Trek Character Sheet
-Contraption Set Two
-Contraption Issue 3, Pages 16 and 17
-Cosmic (Retrospace) cards for Darkfast Dungeons
-Two sets of minis for a Savage Worlds project
-a quick cyberpunky set of minis side project
-Dark Depths (Really only need to do the terrain and cards for this set now)
-Save the Day Generic Hero/Villain Mini set and terrain stuff (Super Hero Starter Kit)
-Dwarf Mechs and Dragons Set
Looking at the "to do" list (This is only for September) can be a bit daunting, but I see it as what can be done in a period of time. I am almost finished several of the projects and they have ALL been started and just need completion.
