I am a fan of all paper-craft or rather a fanatic (18gigs of paper-craft models). And I usually build 3-4 pieces a month on-top of any game specific stuff (ala. One Monk minis, terrain and what have you). Most I give away (Pokemon, Animals & Cartoon characters ,etc). And one of my favorite genres of the paper-craft world are the Automata or mechanical moving sculptures. Models from the likes of FlyingPaperPig, Paperpino, CeraCera and Clockworkrobot are endlessly fascinating to me. There simplicity, cleverness and craft appeal both to my inner artist & designer. But mostly to my inner child just fascinated with impression of movement, how it works and the toy like quality of them. I had been kicking around the idea of taking one or two of Mel Ebbles mecha or stompie figures (Joton or Murphy) and try some basic automata conversion, so I was really psyched when I came across this free Mechwarrior:Wildcat automata. I am particularly impressed with the fluidity of motion. I can't wait to build this! ~F

Floyd!
I saw this too and am going to build one in the near future... as I was looking at it though I couldn't help but wonder what a Floyd re-color would look like...

Totally need to make one of those. I'm impressed that it's supposed to work with normal paper, too. I'll have to try that.
