October - Sci-Fi Crawls August - Papercuts, so people don't feel double-tapped and moderators are free-d up to work on their entries. Instead of Dungeon Denizens perhaps Dungeon Encounters? Ancient Apocalypse to cover the rise and fall of kingdoms and deities throughout the fertile crescent? edit-> For an earthly wildlife Hoard I would commit to making a bear cub.

Dungeon Dangers, or Dangerous Dungeons, could be a nice catch-all for dungoen monster/traps/tiles/adventurers... Also, a theme that included ancient Egypt would probably thrill the pants off @coyotepunc

Okay, I was all ready to make some changes, but I need to control myself and wait for some more discussion. Without discussion, I might have a good decision, but not a great decision. Keep the ideas coming

How about a hoard on "Baroque Horror". Like Vampire/Witch/Monster Hunters and vampires, witches, monsters and other creatures set in the 17th and 18th century. I'm thinking of stuff like Brotherhood of the Wolf, The Huntsman, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Brothers Grimm, etc. etc.
Here in Germany, next year will see the release of the Baroque Horror RPG "Hexxen 1733", and I know that "Colonial Gothic" trails along the same direction.

Once I find the time to finish my Pocket Adventures project (a dungeon crawl board game sized to fit in a pocket), the first set will be called Dangerous Dungeons. ^^

Oops, didn't know that name was claimed. I'm not really married to any hoard theme, I just like looking at all the neat stuff you all make I do want to see some dinosaurs though, and I really like the idea of "familiar creatures."

LOL! I chose Dangerous Dungeons because you can relatively easily come up with a similar German tilte: Gefährliche Gänge.

What would be a good way to combine Wonders of Egypt and Armies of the Ancient World? Egypt and Its Rivals? Snag with this is Egypt had almost no connection with many of the other major military Near Eastern powers of its day (3rd and 2nd millennium BC particularly), centred around Mesopotamia and the Zagros Mountains to its east, including Sumer, Akkad and Elam through to Babylonia. Egypt's only real "rival" was the Hittite empire, and that in a fairly limited way. "Ancient Apocalypse" I don't really like. It has too strong a hint of overbearing destruction, Mad Max-style, to me, whereas the "Armies of..." idea was meant to be distinctly historical. As an alternative then, perhaps Armies of the Ancient Near East? Leaving August as Papercuts month seems really sensible, as squirmydad said, so reducing the blank months to four. So what about: Armies of the Ancient Near EastFamiliar Beasts (thus covering real animals and wizardly familiars) Perils of the Dungeon (or "of the Underworld") Science Fiction ExplorersAnd perhaps rather than "Halloween Wars" in September, we could call it instead Baroque Horror after shep's suggestion?

I know we like the Egypt idea (but @coyotepunc keeps his pants on!!!) but why not open it up just a little and just say "Ancient Armies." If someone wants to do Far East or Toltec or something they would feel welcome. Edit: I did a bit of research and apparently I should have said Olmec instead of Toltec to keep it ancient. But the point still stands.

In regards to Dungeon Dangers or the variations of that theme, I think "It's a Trap" sums it up nicely, since there are also traps in modern/scifi settings (such as pop-up machine guns).

We could use more nice counters. Contact markers, radar blips, danger marks... Some PnP games come with few, but it would be nice to have a hoard of various markers ready at our command. If not enough artists are interested, than maybe piggyback them onto some other hoard.
One hoard of (3d) vehicles sounds good to my ears. Tanks, artilery, scouts, APC's, IFV's, Jeeps or anything similar. Preferably around the half of 2017 or later, since I burned my hobby money on BW printing a week ago.

You can use software to turn photos into paper figures, but real life pictures do not look as good when they are of tiny size.
More saturated colors and smaller amount of details, together with greater notability details are what smaller works need. Proportions are off as well, tiny miniatures are "thicker" than normal people, with greater eyes and mouths/noses.

I am newbie So people make figures for specific themes every month and give them for free to community? That nice idea. Sorry - I've been neglecting the forums for the last couple months... If you haven't found the past hoard files, go to onemonk.com (there's a "Downloads" link at the top of the forum page here) and from there you'll find a ton of great resources in addition to things you'll find throughout the forum. There are *nine years* of hoard files posted there! I'm getting the last of the 2016 hoards packaged up for download - can't wait to see what 2017 brings!
