I had also designed a vulcan ship with the ring-shaped warp nacelle. After printing it, I am afraid to touch it due to the very small size of the pieces. Fortunately, canon sources indicate that this basic design is used for ships of at least three different sizes, so I will scale these up to 125% and 150% to print next time, and then get them assembled.

While I was waiting for my wife to get ready to go out this morning, I decided to build one of these anyway. I haven't painted the base yet, so it is just a bit raw. The other one will turn out a little better know that I know where the fiddly bits are. And as always, next to the Enterprise for scale.

So did you add the blue "rim" to the nacelle after construction?? Is that paint? Highlighter pen??
(It looks very cool!! Just wanting to know your method!)

The blue glow on the nacelle was creaed by simply edging with blue highlighter instead of black. Highlighters of various colors can add greatceffects to models when used for edging.

Nice indeed... Should I ever run an Enterprise-era campaign, this might be quite useful...
