Thanks. In pursuing the last few minutes here, it looks like I've already been shared here a few times.
One thread I saw discusses the copyright aspect to what I do. And that's certainly relevant to this thread, so I'll go ahead and confirm a few things:
- Yes, my paper miniatures - which are made with images from the internet (such as google images) - are only used in my house, at my table. I don't even take them to the friendly local game store.
- No, I do not distribute cut sheets of pruned miniatures from google images, even "for free," because that still violates copyright.
- Yes, the use of these images in my videos for Educational Purposes under fair use and also presented in a different format (video vs. image, not that it actually matters but is an extra layer as far as applicability) is acceptable.

Looks like the best 40K ever! I am guessing all that cost under $10 less than the cost of a single model at GW prices lol!

Hello! First post on this forum. Here are 1000 points each of some Space Marines and Tyranids. I made these by chopping up the images from the Games Workshop website in Photoshop. The bases for the 25mm either 1" metal washers. All the other ones (40, 60, oval) I whipped up with my 3D printer. They all are very bottom heavy and have good weight so they don't shift around at all on the table. (the Rhino and the Dreadnought are obviously not paper) For Rhinos, Dreadnaughts, and other 40K vehicles, have you considered Petroroch's (not sure if that is the correct spelling) stuff? He has made a lot of 40k models for paper crafting. Be warned though. These models are not for the beginner and they are almost all in Russian. You can find them here: Petroroch's Models

Nifty. As far as papercraft goes, I am certainly a newb. I also enjoy doing scratch-built vehicles with cardboard and hot glue. Its the humanoid stuff I can't do, so paper minis fill in the gap.

Same here. I'm certainly not a noob to papercrafting, but I have to give some serious thought to doing one of his models. I'm not in any real hurry to make them though. I've got another massive build I am in the middle of right now, and I don't play 40k all that much anymore.

I actually am saddened by what GW has done. They used to offer templates so you could add to the experience. Now it is all about the buck.
From a business standpoint, I have to give them credit, though. How they can charge that much for their stuff is beyond me. But they do. I'm just glad my son never got into WH40k and expected me to buy him all this stuff.
Also from the standpoint of developing a world for their game, they did a great job. But part of that was probably from fan feedback.
Four stars for that, but zero stars for making their game 'inclusive'

I've got a few dozen or so WH40k figures, mostly basic space marines, but most were given to me and Idon't actually play Warhammer. Yes, I do think most of GW's stuff is over-priced, but what really p15535 off me is how they price things: basically, you pay for what the figure is worth onn. the table, not how much plastic is in thr figure/kit. Lego is now the same way - The Star Wars sets are significantly more expensive than a Lego City set with the same or even more pieces. I saw the action figure kits, where all the male characters, such as Finn and Kylo Reb were about EUR 25 and the female character Ray was just under EUR 20. For GW stuff, whole troop of basic soldiers can cost as little as EUR 10, but one รผber dude with mean hair cut and superman's cape can be about EUR 30 and up! So you can only really field a powerful army if you have plenty of leasure money.
Now, I can print up entire armies of One Monks hybrids and Dave Okums orcs few a couple of Euros or so (or less if I can do them at work...)

Yeah, I refuse to give GW my hard earned money anymore. I stopped playing 40k back in 2001 thanks to a "friend" taking my army and books with him when he moved (I kept all of my stuff over at his house since my mom didn't want us playing at my house and hauling it over every weekend was a P.I.T.A.). By the time I finally had income to replace my books and minis (75% of my minis were scraps of WFB Orks that were given to me and I just added some SM guns to, the other 25% were mage knight minis with scratch-built weapons - all my vehicles were scratch built), I looked at the new price scam er... scheme and said "No." EDIT: Accidently hit the post buttom Anyway, I don't really wargame anymore, but if I did decide to get dragged back into 40k, I would probably use Wyloch's paper mini methodology. Though I would probably use OkumArts Save the Day rules, like I am doing for Arena of the Planeswalkers (about 1/3 the way converting the minis over from HeroScape to Save the Day).

I actually don't play 40k. I discovered One Page 40k (Google it) which is wonderfully accessible, concise, and still feels like the official franchise. Can't speak highly enough about it.
