I've mentioned that I wanted to do a Rathaus elsewhere, with a clock tower featuring the Prague Astonomical Clock. As I'm going through the Hugo l'Escargot repaint of the Nottingham Castle from Seite 42, and the Seite 42 Files, I think I see a plan coming together. cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/8123/great-stoney-castle-dragon-magazineRe-orienting the Guildhall from Medieval Mayhem so that the right side becomes the front, mirroring the Arch corner to the other end of this, with the tall tower from Nottingham Castle in the middle (between the gables), I think I see this coming together. I picture it similar (but not that close) to the Old Town Hall, Prague. Stone from the tower and around the end on one end, but with the upper floors half-timbered going the other way, with plaster instead of brick between the timbers. Smaller gables midway up the roof, instead of being wall extensions. I'm really just using this post to put my ideas down 'on paper', so to speak. Gotta finish the coaches first

As I was looking for more images, I got side-tracked, checking out more Prague sites. When I was there in 1981, St Wenceslas Chapel was part of the tour, but it isn't open to the public any more. It was one of the more interesting places we visited.

I am absolutely kicking myself right now. Went to my IT guy's house today to pick up my fixed and tuned-up computer and to get some issues with the new computer resolved
His wife was still sick, so I thought she'd be home and their driveway would be full. I turned on a different street so I could do on-street parking in front of his house. Going down that other street I saw stonework that could easily be mistaken for the stonework of the Old Town Hall on a paper model. After going through things on the computers, I forgot to stop and take a photo. 45 minute drive, so I have to remember to go slightly out of my way when I head to the country next weekend. Blast!

I always wondered about the odd pink building on the end of the Prague Old Town Hall. It turns out that it's basically all that remains of the Town Hall that was destroyed near the end of WWII. They are having yet another contest about a new old town hall, but none of the other contests ended up with anything

Question-- Revisiting this old idea tonight, I pulled up my Guild Hall files, and revisited the Coaching Inn thread, and started looking for more images. Papercuts 2018 isn't over, yet, so I am assuming that if I do practically anything on this, it wouldn't be eligible for Papercuts 2018, right?

Why do you think that? You asked a double-negative, so it's hard to understand what you mean...

I assume he's asking about editing the image in Photoshop, and based on the context, I'm guessing he likes the pic but doesn't like parts of it, like the clutter on the table and the fact that the street tiles are all over the place. If that's the case, then letter of the law is that you can't add enhancements, but one can modify the lighting and one can crop, so one could trim it down to get rid of the stuff in the background, or just darken it down so that it's lost in shadow, though I think it looks great as it is though, and would make a perfectly fine entry!

I crop all my photos to get rid of distracting stuff. :-) It's just the same as moving the camera for framing - but after the shot.

No, this is back from Medieval Mayhem, taking the Guild Hall portion of the complex and retexturing it, altering it, adding a tower.
My main question is whether a shelved project that never went anywhere back in 2017 would be eligible for Papercuts 2019.
Secondary question was whether it is too early to start a 2019 project

I think you can start on 2019. If you are FINISHED before Aug. 31 2018 it technically wouldn't qualify for 2019, but if it wasn't entered in 2018 I would still allow it. Not that I have the power to allow or dis-allow anything. Just my 2 cents.

If you were fast you could enter it for 2018, if not then 2019 is fine. It doesn't matter when you started a project, just when you finish it.
Crop, adjust the lighting, mask the unsightly background bits, just don't add weird sparkly photoshop effects on an overlay layer.
