Oops. Not checked in for a few weeks. Sorry. Love the cadets, Shep. Shadowmane, An aged face option is not beyond the realms of possibility. It's not a priority, though I'm afraid. Also, Marquis, yes, my apologies but a print and save/load function are beyond my technical knowhow at the moment. As Shep says, you need to rely on screen capture and then crop but fortunately that can be easily done in a number of free apps. I'm afraid I have to report that I've hit a bit of a brick wall with the mini maker at the moment too. The whole thing is made in Unity 3D using Unity Script - which is essentially Java Script. Unfortunately the cool kids all prefer C# at the moment and because of that Unity, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that they are going to start removing Javascript from Unity3D. This means that I need to re-write the whole thing from scratch in C#. After I learn C#. Fortunately C# and JS are very similar in many ways so it won't be quite as bad as starting completely from scratch but it's going to take a while. The Mini maker as is will stay up and it will continue to work, but I'm afraid there won't be any further updates until I've remade it which could be a while. I suppose if nothing else, it'll give me a chance to tidy up my extremely messy code Wayne

I'm amazed at what you've accomplished, but having to re-write the code would be rather dis-heartening. I wish you the best with that

If you have to re-write the code, then why not make it a stand-alone web app? Do you really need the Unity engine if you're using C# already? Same question with Javascript. Why not separate it from Unity? I know it might take some more writing on your part, but then again, you might recruit some help. That way, you're not at the mercy of the guys writing Unity.

Heh. A neat idea but Unity3D does all of the heavy lifting. I just write a series of messy if/then statements - which is the extent of my coding ability

I have another feature request. How about the jumpsuits from the original series, in case you want to make some crewmen instead of officers.

They are quite high on the list, actually.

What about the rest of the uniforms from The Motion Picture? There's a whole plethora of uniforms there, including a dedicated security uniform.
I know, I know. You're still working slowly.

Yeah, eventually pretty much everything will be included. Sadly, I still need to find the time to learn C# first

You could try porting it to the Ogre Engine. You might not have to even change much.

You will be pleased to know that I managed to convert my Javascript to C# with an automated script. It took just a tiny bit of tweaking and reconnecting buttons and the minimaker is back in action!
New content soon! Watch this space.

Okay, I've uploaded a new build of the Mini-Maker. There's no new content yet, but it's the C# version and I'm hoping that if any problems arise, they'll appear through usage. So do let me know if anything goes wrong. www.crowstuff.co.uk/MiniMaker/index.html

Noticed some white showing through on the thumb of the right hand while holding certain devices. Here is an example, though it appeared to be happening in several poses across many or most species: It's nothing that I couldn't fix for myself in GIMP, but you probably want to look into it as a bug when you get the chance.

Yeah, I saw that one and I've fixed it. I forgot to apply the skin-tinter script to the thumbs! There was a sorting issue with one of the TMP uniform arms too. Haven't uploaded the build yet. I'll try and do that today.

Minimaker updated. The Admirals are in. I'm getting a weird bug, though. Very occcasionally, the TNG communicator hand fails to deactivate and you get two hands in one sleeve! - but only on the left hand in the rear view. I haven't figured out why, yet. The code looks fine. I'll keep looking. In the mean time, you can usually clear it by changing the hand, arm, era or hitting 'random'. It's perfectly useable otherwise. www.crowstuff.co.uk/MiniMaker/index.html

Love the Minimaker tool!
Any plans to add more races to the Minimaker (in particular Caitians, Edosians, and Tiburonians)?
Would it be possible to get some more skin colors added to the Humans including some blues? This makes it easier to create more aliens.
Any thought to adding ranks/rank insignia section to the uniforms?
Regarding more races, a generic Humanoids race with a wide range of skin colors and forehead/facial appliances would be very useful.

Are the Discovery Season2 Enterprise Uniforms different enough to warrant an entry? Given the scale, I'd be worried that so much detail would be lost that there wouldn't be sufficient difference, from The Original Series version, for it to be worth the effort...though I wouldn't mind seeing what the look like in a Minimaker style.

Some Cheron would be really cool but there's only two left in the universe it seems. Lol

The Star Trek Mini-Maker 2.39 is live. In this update I've added Caitians to the species list. You'll have to put up with humanoid legs but there's nothing I can reasonably do about that, I'm afraid. >Lower Decks now has its own Era and I've also added the two different Picard uniforms. >The TNG movie era and Lower Decks now have era-specific props as does the Picard era. >You can now colour facial hair separately to hair - this is so that the Caitians can have different coloured muzzles to their manes. >I've added a load of new colour options to skin and hair as well. >I've juggled the menu order on the left a bit to make it a little more intuitive (to me anyway) and added a facial hair colour menu. >The Alice Band in the women's hairstyles now exactly matches the colour of whatever uniform is worn. >Other than that I've done a lot of work under the 'hood' as it were. The code is made up of layer upon layer of cludge fixes that's built up over the versions and some of it was in dire need of scrapping and re-writing to make it easier to add to in future. So the work is not all on the screen. I've found that it takes longer and longer to load these days. I don't know if that's a code thing or it's just got loads to download (there are thousands of tiny graphical elements now) - but I often find it seems to hang mid download. Refreshing the page a couple of times seems to kick it in the arse eventually, though it's possible if you just leave it, it'll finish the download on its own. I don't know. On a similar note. It's getting impossible to thoroughyl test every possible itteration, so if you do find a major glitch or bug, please do let me know. Now all I have to do is try to stop putting semi colons at the end of each sentence(); Enjoy... www.crowstuff.co.uk/MiniMaker/index.html
