As life has been super-crazy-stressful-busy (sounds like the title of a Red Hot Chili Peppers album) lately, I was resigned that a few "must finish" projects had to be set aside for a bit. I then recalled I had a set almost ready to go. I added a few doodles I had done over the past year and viola, a set was almost half done. OK... So.. I could finish this! The whole point is to make minis inspired by 70s and 80s sci fi movies. You might recognize the sources for some of these minis. There will also be some support/material for Darkfast Dungeons/Save the Day and White Star RPG.

That hallway is spectacular. Is it yours or from somewhere else?

That hallway is spectacular. Is it yours or from somewhere else? The hallway is from the BattleSystems Kickstarter. Really great modular card terrain.

There are a lot of things to like about it. Enough detail to look 'real', yet not distracting. Your figures look good on it

Dear Dave,
I just bought Extrastellar 1 - fantastic ! Quite a trip down memory lane... Looking forward to the next installments. Hope you can include Stella Star / Barbarella - like Space Princesses, and more cyber-warrior types in future releases ! Many thanks !
Cheers,
Gary

I think a whole Space Princess set would be fun.

So, another Extrastellar set is on the way. The original idea came from some new Where No Man has Gone Before minis I was working on scanning when I realized I had a lot of colonist jumpsuit figures. With a few more I could have a whole set... That's what happened.

Yeah, those should work pretty well as a base for »Space 1999« mods...

Yes, and yes, the new minis will go there.

Gotta make sure I can moonbase alpha the terrain now. Nah, that's easy, the walls are white, the floor is medium grey...

Nice work David! Add a white peacoat on the males and you have Star Blazers/Uchuu Seinkan Yamato figures.

Or just a black and white line art option, easy to customize from that.

Or just a black and white line art option, easy to customize from that. Personally, I'd still start with the colored version, to preserve the shading. First step is make a new layer and desaturate it. Then create a separate copy of that desaturated layer for each section (pants, tunic, shield, etc.). I colorize the layer for each section, then use layer masks to reveal the colorized version, and then flatten it all at the end. If I were to work from a line-art version, I'd lose the artist's shading, and have to do that all over again, which would involve the airbrush tool at the very least.

There will be a few options. Hey, you stole my mod! Are you going to steal my U.F.O.-mod (SHADO jumpers and silver moonbase uniforms), too ?

Incl. mini skirts and purple wigs for female personnel? You may have to do some cut and paste from the Trek figures for that. Hehe..

They look good with the Mantis. I think this is the first time I've seen one in grey.
