So during my frostgrave quest, I discovered a couple different people with Patreons for maing paper minis. The ones I came currently following do them with front/back art and black outline (or at least build in options for it into the PDF). The names of them are: PrintableHeroes, Paper Forge, and Stuart Robertson. Two questions: 1 - are any of these our people here? and 2 - does anyone know of any others?

Ewww, that's a lot of mirrored/shadowed backs.

I will need to check those patreons out. Patreon really seems to be a good route for producers, at least in theory. I am just not sure how many people on Patreon are really into papercraft gaming.

That's a useful list, migibb. Thanks. Unfortunately, a several of them do use mirrored or shaded backs, which means they aren't eligible for my limited dollars. But two names that were new to me that look like they're worth watching are codexgames and thievescant. Both of those artists are producing figures of very high quality, with full back art; their Patreons are pretty new, but I'll be watching them for a month or two to see if they keep up the output, and then quite likely subscribe.

Patreon does seem pretty neat! I know Sarah over at Codex Games has made some really nice looking minis! She's also working on some really neat Sci-fi minis with front and back art too!

Present and accounted for my good sir/madam! I am rather terrible at staying current and always seem to stumble onto the interesting threads well after all of the excitement has died down, mores the pity. Patreon is an amazing resource. I feel like some kind of cultist talking it up to people, but as a means for artists (or anyone who's creating anything) to crowd fund their going projects I've found it to be incredibly helpful and steadily more and more liberating. I haven't been surprised to see several new paper miniature Patreons pop up. I feel like we're in a pretty interesting time where there's this huge damned for RPG content/resources and we have companies like WotC practically begging people to release their homebrew content on things like the DMsGuild. So there is a lot of opportunity for people to put their passion projects out there and build communities around them.

Ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that Fabian does great work though, it's been really cool and motivating to see the stuff he's been putting out. Great list of Patreon mini creators! There's several I hadn't seen before and will have to check out. Patreon is still such a new frontier, it's great to see what is/isn't working for people. Man, it has been awhile since I was just doing these without backviews on tumblr haha, time flies! I'm glad you dragged me through the jungles of the internet to this wonderful el dorado of paper mini crafters

I was hoping to get these out this week, but I'm losing the opportunity because I'm at a cottage and supposed to be resting...

Here's a new (at least to me) paper mini producer on Patreon - 2D Adventures. They are using the same model as others with free minis with mirrored backs, while Patreon pledges can get you back artwork and alternate colours at varying levels. Haven't signed up myself (yet) but downloaded the freebies and they are quite cool IMHO....

I'm here on the forum now too. I was a bit reluctant to focus on minis (over just art), but theres a lot of cool work I have seen lately that has inspired me. My next Patreon drop will include back views. I have five designs I'm tinkering with now. I still have yet to color them though. Here's a half-elf rogue I have been working on a little bit for the past few years. When I formatted him for a mini, I realized that I had to use that wide silhouette to allow for the differing front to back perspective/foreshortening. Anywho... hopefully this new set looks cool when it's done. I will eventually break the sets up into Solo Minis on DriveThru too, but that's another story for another time.

Here's another one I found just the other day. Free figs showing off the artwork with mirrored backs and no borders, but the base level ($1/month) gives you proper backs and thick borders. Not signed up to check them out yet though - be interested what they are like if anyone with the spare cash has done so... www.patreon.com/maximumminiatures

Good chance I'll sign up, at least for a dollar or two. If/when I do, I'll report back.

I have a Patreon page for another endeavour, but none for my papercraft yet. No idea whether it would be worth it, looking at the performance of my stuff... It is definitely an option, and I will look into all those listed here. So thanks for the list!

Just stumbled onto this thread. Great stuff!
I'm working on putting together a Patreon page for paper minis designed for tabletop wargames. I see a lot of great work for RPGs but not so much as far as big blocks of troops.
I've been thinking a lot about the business model lately. I've only just started making the minis themselves. I'd like to offer the base (front and back) models for free, and then unit upgrades (more poses, heads, banners & command, extra shields, etc) and alt designs for patrons. As well as the usual alt color schemes, psd files and such as higher tier rewards. I'd appreciate any input or ideas.
I've got a thread going with my progress in the gallery.

Concerned is an understatement. I'm sorry to any here that have felt the pinch as I had to pull back on my patronage.

Yay!!! In case anyone hasn't heard yet, Patreon have decided to cancel their planned fee change. Turns out everyone - creators and patrons alike - told them what a phenomenally stupid idea it was!!! Go figure!! You can read about it here. For my part, I am incredibly pleased they have rolled back on this pig-headed decision. I thought I was going to have to cut back on those I patronised rather than chucking a dollar here and a dollar there to all these other paper mini makers that were springing up. Here's to a healthy, wealthy and well-patronised (in a good way!) 2018!!

Just came across another new mini maker over on the big P! www.patreon.com/theyweremonstersSome of his early free stuff has backs - and the patreon pledge levels includes backs at $1 and alternate colours above that. I quite like the style - reminds me a bit of the guy (John Kapsalis?) who is doing the Advanced Fighting Fantasy minis for Arion Games. Just need to get him to add a black border option!!
