Two days earlier than last year, but I'm noticing references to Hoard ideas, so I think it is time to start the conversation.
The 2017 Hoard topics were--
FH 149 January Out of Time FH 150 February Anthropomorphic Madness FH 151 March Sci Fi Encounters FH 152 April Mountain Mayhem FH 153 May Welcome to the Dungeon FH 154 June Deities and Their Followers FH 155 July Familiars and Earthly Wildlife FH 156 August Papercuts FH 157 September Halloween Wars FH 158 October Beyond the Black Nebula FH 159 November Christmas Wars FH 160 December The Hoard of the Procrastinators
We'll start putting together 2018 ideas here.
FH 161 January Future Motorpool FH 162 February Elder God Valentines FH 163 March Japanese Mythos FH 164 April Medieval Superheroes FH 165 May 2D or Not 2D, These Are the Dungeon Props FH 166 June Real Animals FH 167 July Ancient Greece FH 168 August Papercuts FH 169 September Halloween Wars FH 170 October To the Moon FH 171 November Christmas Wars FH 172 December The Hoard of the Procrastinators

I'm interested in seeing military and/or Sci-Fi motorpool, tanks, apcs, ifvs vtols etc.
"Future Motorpool"
Now, the question is, do we have people interested in making some?

I always enjoy vehicles, but almost all of my designs end up dying on the vine.
Other ideas mentioned in the past couple months --
Medieval Superheroes Commoners Common Animals
and a generic request for geographic themes.
Have I missed any requests from the last ten months?

February 2018 brings the 90th anniversary of the publishing of H P Lovecraft's short story "The Call of Cthulhu" in Weird Tales Vol. 11, No. 2, so maybe a good time to revisit all things Lovecraftian?
Something historically Japanese themed might be nice at some stage too. Thanks to a new friend's interest in all things Japanese over the past year, I've been hunting around for suitable paper minis and models, naturally, but have been somewhat surprised by the relative paucity of what's available for download and home printing - Papierschnitzel, yes some wonderful models and hopefully many more to come, if not yet of the "typical house" type, and a few other items elsewhere as well, and there are mini sets from both PERMES (albeit in a somewhat older, simpler style than his more recent minis) and Okumarts - but there seems a lot of unexplored territory in this area still.
December 2018 will be the fiftieth anniversary of the flight and safe return of Apollo 8, with the first humans to orbit the Moon (Dec 21-27), perhaps a suitable occasion for something lunar-themed - whether Apollo spacecraft, UFO TV-series style lunar base and craft, through to H G Wells' Selenites, say. Or should we wait for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing mission in 2019? (Or why not do both?!). October (the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 7 mission, the first manned Apollo flight) would be a possibly suitable month for such a Hoard.

Have I missed any requests from the last ten months? Not sure it really counts as a "missed request" as such, but godofrandomness did ask about flat standee dungeon furniture items, an interesting challenge away from the typical 3D furniture models, maybe?

How about "Past Tomorrows That Never Were" for a little bit of retro-futuristic characters, vehicles, interiors, and buildings?
Or "Beyond The Horizon" for some exploratory themed stuff, be it early humans leaving the cradle of mankind, ancient armies conquering distant lands, explorers setting sails for the unknown, or galactic heroes going where no one has gone before...?

I like the scifi motorpool idea. I have an APC I can share That looks almost exactly like a certain APC that is named after a horned animal from Africa and produced by this pretty expensive minis maker company in Nottingham, UK...

I admit the Warthog APC may bear a passing resemblance to a certain company's product...

How about a month of real-world animals? Things like bears, lions, alligators, etc., always seem to be useful, and a lot of the ones I wish I had, I can't find.

I'll toss in something for the SF motorpool. Models are always a challenge since they have to fit a single page, including instructions--but that also makes it fun.

Single page is preferred, but there have been several models posted with more than one page. I think the main goal is to keep the number of parts down. The Ashbrooke-Stein Dodecagon House would definitely not be a Hoard submission

"interesting" aspects of her flight suit. It should be small enough.

Shall I put 2D Dungeon Furnishings and The Hills are Alive in the two open slots? Or TBA?

How about 2D or Not 2D Dungeon Furnishings ? I'm fine with The Hills are Alive, it is silly to argue when the theme is just a suggestion and the Hoard accepts pretty much anything we offer.

I was kind of rolling it in the To the Moon category, but you'll notice, I haven't filled in the other two slots yet. I was really just re-opening the conversation

Ah, I see... Well, I meant the exploration theme much wider than just to the moon. I thought of a category that encompasses "everything" from people leaving their home to wander beyond to conquistadors on exotic new shores to pioneers of the far west to rocket ships to the moon and even further... and a mix of all that, like Neanderthals on the moon or astronauts in tall ships sailing through space to distant shores, whatever...

I was going back through the list, and we don't have anything that is really a Fantasy setting

I LOVE the Hyborean Cage name, i'd imagine Hyborea or Suzerain would have lots of strange animals to do, as well as the Crazy Wizard stuff
