Thank you! On another forum I was discussing the flatness of paper models and decided to write a little tutorial on doubling up details on my site. When I showed my better half the improved house, she liked it alot! And she usually is not easily impressed with my paper model monkey business

Small diorama I made with the new things I created, making the village look more lived in (I hope).

They will be included in this months Patreon and then one or two months later in a regular package. But if you are interested in test building them, write me your eMail in a PM *wink, wink! nudge, nudge!*

At the prototype phase ...
Solid 3D posts will be fold-flat-able! I didn't like the flat versions. Also raised the main roof a little for some curve against the veranda roof.
Need to work out some smaller things and then I should be able to start texturing soon :-)

Man, I am loving all this samurai stuff. I'm hoping to have my 1600s Japanese warband done before the end of the year, so I think I'll be needing this stuff...

I really need to make more samurai minis. Any requests? I guess there is a different need for RPG and wargaming. For the latter I think the foot solders (ashigaru, with lances/spears or guns) would be of interest to those so inclined.
For RPG I can imagine different kami, oni etc. (the more mythical side of Japan) might be nice.
Or do a poll on Patreon and see if anyone is even interested!
I am very happy with the ones I have from you and will gladly cut out any new ones you make! No get back to grading papers and don't waste time with this nonesens

I really need to make more samurai minis. Any requests? Samurai, both foot and mounted. Ashigaru with spears or guns or bows. Sohei monks. Chinese and Japanese pirates. 17th century Koreans.

Working on the fold-flat parts ... I do have some experience now with challenging models but the posts are a new challenge. But I think I have worked out a very fluid way of assembling this one.
There are a couple of minor improvements I have to do and I also want to add some "pockets" in the wall parts for the posts. Right now they are a little wobbly after insertion.

I have done the best I could do, but I would not be surprised if you will find ways to optimize it!
Get thoroughly well first!

I really need to make more samurai minis. Any requests? Civilian life. I look for Usagi Yojimbo for my Japanese inspiration. Wood gatherers, people working the fields, tattooed gamblers, nicely dressed upper class woman and entertainers, imperial burocrats, medieval policemen with jitte...

This month in old Japan ... the tea house!
Making two versions, the classic with the veranda going round ...
... and then the solo version.
Here is a little diorama I made.
One can see how much I love the new "geisha" figure by Jess chiefasaur :-) Also the sitting figures by mesper fit very well with these kind of scenes.
