I love the barbarian with these crazy hair Thanks! He may be related to Hirsute.... Okoto, your stylized 9th Age figures inspired me to try doing my own fanciful characters. I failed and couldn't even match your geometrically cool characters. Here's what I got so far: The first one, Sir Walken Tall Sir Pringles And thirdly, Sir Atticus - Scout

Created a few more 'busy knights'. They'll possibly be used for A Song of Blades and Heroes.

I did one more 'bad knight' to-knight. Listening to Iggy, Bowie, Lou Reed, T-Rex, the Kinks and Superorganism. ~ I have many sketchbooks with art that was uninspired because it had no direction or drive, but I've come to realize with my art, I've found something really good for me to put my doodling (and gaming) to effective use. In the last few months I've had this rush of output unlike anything I've seen since doing fan art for Heroscape. Thanks guys for checking out the work and allowing me to share it here.

Jejeje I am glad my 9th age figures inspired you for making the ¿dwarves? you show in your second post I love your style, that way of shading is so great!! These drawings remind me to some drawings you could find in some old gameworkshop illustrations. Don´t know wich is my favourite, je, je, je. Shield maiden is great, with that shield and position, and these last little demons are awesome too, especially these kind of centaur, has a lot of volume.

Shield maiden is great, with that shield and position, and these last little demons are awesome too, especially these kind of centaur, has a lot of volume. Thanks, Okoto. Yeah, they're diminuitive. Sir Tall is definitely a dwarf, but Sire Edge has the small stature like say, Angry Anderson/Iron Bar from Mad Max 3. The others are of average height. Here's the paper mini art for Lady Lullaby, Bludgeoner. I did away with her long, braided ponytail and tightened/sharpened up her mace spikes in the Paint program. ~ Shield Maiden and Scimitar lady are different from the dastardly knights and are two characters for a solitaire game I'm trying to create based on Sindbad's battle against Kali. It's very difficult to create an interesting game with a decent artificial intelligence representing the big, bad killer statue. ~A little downtime at work today and I was working on an idea for a wrought-iron or wire-twisted animate construct and ended up with a Don Quixote silhouette toy soldier. These little toy soldiers are The Small Men from La Mancha. Los hombres Pequeños de La Mancha. I'd like to also create some on horseback, a Sancho Panza character and perhaps even monster windmills! ~ Here is the final group of small kobold/sand garoyle type creatures:

Finally had a chance to play Sellswords and Spellslingers with my paper miniatures. I didn't anticipate some scenarios using so many miniatures and it showed me the advantage of having paper minis and printing off as many as needed. The scenario Of Wine and Brambles requires many Goblins and I appreciated being able to leave slain minis on the board without having to recycle them for new reinforcements as the game progressed. I'm not completely happy how a group of paper minis tend to block the view of others, but that's a concern mostly for photography and reasons for documenting play sessions. I was up at my mountain home and the trees there have plenty of lichen to populate a play area!

I need to play a few "wargame" games again with my minis this summer. This looked fun.

I need to play a few "wargame" games again with my minis this summer. This looked fun. It's pretty good for solitaire skirmish. This second basic scenario was very entertaining. I enjoy the designer's Song of Blades and Four Against Darkness, but I'm thinking SS & SS best suits what I want from a old-school, skirmish-type game.

Hey, Thanks! I'm just drawing on 8.5 x 11.5 copy paper and scanning as a JPEG. Scale it in Word document. The access to the scanner was at work, but I'm off for the summer. My paper miniatures access is currently on hold. I've kept drawing, though. I did these early morning while on vacation in the mountains. They're types of monsters for Sellswords & Spellslingers. Very, very loose drawings. Sketching with Sharpies and correcting with White-Out pens
Greater Minotaur, not sure what I dated it 1, but it should read 6-23-18
Chaos Barbarian & Mountain Brigand
Chaos Knights
Lizard people cultists
Demon
Some weird undead mummy thing & Lizard person cultist
Mountain Brigands
Demon and archer character
Black-Hooded lizard people
Lizard person cult executioner & Jester Archer

Ok, H_E_H , after all this teasing ..... where to download your minis? They're gorgeous and uniques. Thank you, Parduz. I remember you from the Heroscape forums! They're just personal stuff. No backs, borders, or colors. I considered learning GIMP this summer and working on them proper, but am currently busy with some other art assignments. I can send you the scans of the art if you'd like to do something with them, but again, currently there is no backside to the figures. ~ Just recently, I went on a road trip to Idaho and did sketching during my wife's turn to drive. Here are somemore paper minis for use in the game, Sellswords and Spellslingers:

I am amazed what you can do, even as a passenger in a vehicle. Steady hand It wasn't easy! Especially as my wife normally doesn't drive my big ol' truck, but there were long stretches of straight and gently meandering highway out there. It's nice to see those parts of the states. (When I was a teen, I went on a road trip through the southwest and Texas to get to Oklahoma and returned, for some reason, by way of Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming . The 'empty' parts of our country are beautiful and seem endless. ) EDIT: Oh, to be honest, the 'black knight and lizardman champion' weren't drawn on the highway. They were done later, but I included them as part of the same lot of SS & SS drawings

Just bumping - I like the artwork here, wish they were in color, or at least double-sided. Actually IMHO monochromatic colors are very suitable for this art-style (then agreed regarding double-sided)

Usually I like doing backs but I don't think I could match this style.
