Hi, I'm Steve. Ive been gaming and modelling for centuries. I'm new to the paper side of things, and can use all of the help I can get. Id like to get a robocutter but am having trouble printing first. I'll get under control then move on Thanks Steve

Welcome, Steve. Not all printers or paper are the same. Frankly, I've heard folks complain about printers that others swear by. You want to print at best quality generally, on decent paper. Are you printing figures or terrain?

Right now I'm printing maps and they turn out quite red. I've had good luck printing figures, so I'm not certain what the problem is.

Sounds like a settings issue. Or clogged printer heads. What type of printer?

I believe Espson printers have a test page you can print, and I think there is a process to scan it in to calibrate the colors. My mom had an Epson, so I don't remember very well. It was a long, long time ago.

If you're ready to upgrade might I suggest the epson cis printers. I got a l355 in june of 2015 (before they sold cis here in the US) and the savings in ink have paid for the 250$ printer several fold. They now have newer models available in the us with support (I bought mine online before they sold them here).
