In reducing them, the colors are too dark, so color enhancement is required. They also need a black border to make them easier to cut out and to help some of the spindly legs, antlers, tails, etc. Also, I think I need to do gray and dark brown fold lines to indicate valley folds and mountain folds. And they weren't designed to be glued, but glue helps, so I need to indicate glue spots. The month is half over, so I am seriously thinking of shelving these for now, and getting my Aurochs, Wisent and Tarpan minis done. I dunno
Wisent went extinct ... never, but it was close. Tarpans went extinct in 1908, but the last one turned out to be a hybrid. The last Aurochs died in the 1600's. That's why I think that except for modern era, they need to be represented.

There have been suggestions that the Chillingham wild cattle in Northumberland, northern England, may be descendants of the aurochs. This is considered unlikely now in some quarters, but it remains a possibility. They may be more likely descended from medieval husbanded cattle, but the creatures are truly wild animals, and their appearance and behaviour is rather different to that of domesticated cattle. Intriguingly, they have all-white coats, with red ears, a pair of attributes that recur in tales of magical and fairy animals across the British Isles, so perhaps making them another suitable candidate for modelling in paper? * Wikipedia page* Natural History Society of Northumbria webpage

Those are interesting. In checking out the sites you listed and others, these appear to be domestic cattle that were allowed to become wild. Somehow they have maintained a recessive trait of the red ears, unlike the White Park cattle. They were almost wiped out several times. Two articles claim that these have not been allowed to mate outside their group, except with the White Park cattle (black ears) with the offspring becoming part of the White Park herd. Two other references mention introduction of some exterior breeding to offset the dwarfism due to inbreeding in one article, and another talked about exterior breeding to lose the typical 'beef' appearance. However, they do still have the red ears, and look more like more primitive beasts in conformation. Interesting animals EDIT -- I've made all nine animals, though not glued or edged. I don't like the rhino. Fold-over legs and antlers will fix the spindliness issue with the caribou and the zebra. Enhanced the colors and lightened them to print better. I will leave the rhino in case someone particularly needs one. I plan to replace the elephant with a black bear that I didn't use. The elephant needs to be much larger. I'm putting it on a second page. I hope to get the borders put on these tonight, and maybe the fold lines

I'm afraid I'm only going to have time to do the Beldine animals ... maybe a couple others.
What else do people have working? I've collected quite a sample of rare or recently extinct beasts if anyone feels so inclined. And there are many other animals that could be done.
EDIT -- The elephant is now on a second page and enlarged 40%, which really makes him seem quite large. I originally went 50% and laid a 30mm figure on the page, and decided to shrink it to a 40% enlargement.
The black bear with this is sitting on his haunches and like the other figures is way too dark. He's going to require a lot of love to be presentable

What else do people have working? I did the Dire Kiwi and the Pack Yak. I remembered that I was going to take that pack Yak and make a 2.5D Grand Expedition Yak from World Of Warcraft: Mists Of Pandaria, but I'm feeling lazy. I have a hankering to do Witchie-Poo's Vroom Broom in 2.5D, but that's a ways off.

The Ours Noir is beyond my abilities to fix, I'm afraid There just isn't enough resolution for me to work with EDIT-- unless I can collect enough images to meld onto the template

played around with the black bear over lunch. I can work with the left side now. EDIT-- Did some more clean-up, added some fold lines, and worked on adding the borders. It's a pain in the neck trying to clean up these old scans of old models. Not as easy to add the borders without a clean background, but the borders will make these several times easier to cut out and build. With the diagrams enlarged, mountain folds in blue, and valley folds in yellow, I think they are quite buildable, and I think I will leave glue points to the builder.

Gotta get these out of the way so I can get on with the ones I want to do. Took time at lunch to glue the test animals together. Worked on borders between calls. Need to do my mods on the caribou and zebra still, but it's coming together. Just realized, I haven't done this Hoard's template, yet. Yard work, shopping, cleaning the bathroom, and then I can get back onto my list I want to get these done. I'm anxious to see how the black bear mod works, and test my ideas on the zebra and caribou

I hope to finish the Bledine animals tonight and get them printed off EDIT-- Not done, but did get the template done And came to the realization that you can't put many Bledine animals on a page ... should have just done Aurochs, Wisent and Wild Ponies But I know cowboyleland was concerned with wanting them a bit bulkier. So when I build them I'm going to put a couple (or more) layers of card inside near the spine to bulk them up a bit I got rid of the squirrelly angles for the legs and antlers on the caribou and deer. This will give me room to do the mirrors of those ... tomorrow I might make the elephant a bit larger, but I don't want it to look stupid large. Not sure EDIT #2 -- It seems to be a webinar day, so got the second page done. I also did a reverse for the rhino horns

I will definitely try out the caribou at Christmas. This looks like an Indian elephant to me. Apparently the big ones can be 11' 6" at the shoulder, so 60mm foot to shoulder would be about right.

I was going to print these off at lunch, but didn't get it done. I think that shimming the backs will make them look better, but we'll see.

Printed off the ones other than the elephant and scored. Since most folks don't mirror print on the back, I added reverses of the elephant tusks, the lion tail and the tiger tail

I've got a couple more in the works I literally sat down to work on this and my wife required emergency medical attention. I am at the ER right now with her, she may be admitted in which case I might miss any deadlines. If I'm quiet for a few days, y'all know where I'm at and what I am doing.

Over lunch today, I started cutting these out. The caribou and zebra have the fold overs, so I took a picture of what it should look like before you glue it. Adding the borders, really makes it a lot easier to fly through the cutting and edging

We understand, sir. I've grabbed the wrong mouse before, too
As to the Hoard, I'm going to finish cutting out the Bledine beasties, but then I want to at least have one Auroch (well, Taur0s), a wisent and a Konik wild horse. Maybe more, but we'll see what I can accomplish tonight

My big three have to wait for something else. The retextured black bear doesn't sit up, so fixed that, and the rhino horns needed trimmed at the base of the fold-overs. Was gathering more images of the Taur0s, wisent and konik horses, and got side-tracked. I was reading about the Mediterranean Lion, the European Cave Bear, and the Caspian Tiger. Caspian Tiger? The Soviets systematically eradicated it in the 20th century because it didn't fit in with their view of what Russia should look like. The Caspian Tiger was the third largest of the remaining big cats before its demise. Unlike the other big cats, this fellow had long hair, was brown with dark brown stripes, and as the males matured, they developed a short mane. In spite of government propaganda to the contrary, the only recorded attacks on humans were on their hunters, and the only cases of them poaching livestock that are recorded was during winter when game was scarce. The Soviets decided in 1947 to protect the species, but poaching continued.

Two more for the Hoard... these are small (very small!) tokens to add some sleeping cats to your environments, based on actual pictures of my own kitties. Ramses: Anubis: The trick is to just cut them out, edge them, and drop them flat on the table.
