A couple years ago, I was working on a FiveCore adaptation for Star Trek ground combat, as a follow up to my Star Trek ship-to-ship rules using the same engine. I stopped working on it when the world ended. It's been about two years since I looked at it.
Last night, I made some good headway towards getting it ready to play, if not quite formatted well enough to share. It looks like the battle between the NCC-586 USS Anubis and the RRW K'Uhoka will continue on the surface of Pinkfluffdoodle IV, as both crews try to find resources with which to render their vessels spaceworthy again.
Which means I will now have three (count 'em, THREE) separate FiveCore mini-campaigns going on: WW2 Manchukuo, Star Wars Gangs of Tatooine, and now Star Trek playtest...

Ok, so I played my first TrekCore playtest today, and it was... unspectacular. Not bad, but Federation vs. Romulans with short range weapons on a 3'×3' board meant more time was spent scrambling for objectives than attacking one another. There was one brief firefight that forced a couple of Romulans back 3"... just enough, it turned out, to prevent them from "scouting" the objective marker the Federation was "taking." Neither side used any special rules. So, partial victory to the Romulans, full victory to the Federation. And I ponder if Romulans should have an 18" range on their plasma pistols o.0 I also noticed that only one of the ten basic objectives in FiveCore 3rd ed. requires a task roll, which limits the utility of tricorders outside of stealth operations. Two more games of Federation vs. Romulans, this time with forced model selection to make sure the rules are explored better. Also, this is the first time I had played FiveCore on a 3'×3' board. The game would have been very different on my usual 2'×2' board. 12" range weapons would have been used a lot more! My one in-game picture, Federation vs. Romulans in suspiciously Egyptian-looking ruins:

Thank you! I had no idea o.0 Having looked at it, I find it more complicated than I want for solo gaming lol!

Nonetheless, someone already did the work for you and it's free...
