Current Events thread was getting a little long in the tooth so I thought I'd start another one.
On the board:
•Standard Merchant 50ton Launch Deck Plans - 3 variations - Also includes a 20ton variant with it's own variations - 2 price points: * $2.89 for the base package or * $4.49 for the base package with a promise of delivery of the Standard Merchant 200ton Trader Deck Plans upon their completion
•Starport Folk - 8 different humans one might encounter in Starports, from vendors to laborers to thugs - 3 variations on each design for a total of 24 minis
•Standard Merchant 200ton Trader Deck Plans - Haven't yet determined the number of variations, probably 3-4 - Cargo Deck and Passenger Deck, minimum of 50 pages - This package will include the previous package - Price Point: $5.99 (discount offered in a special release of the 50ton Launch above)
That Standard Merchant I hope to have out by November, assuming I manage to raise the money I need to take a month off so I can give my cousin a Kidney; the down time will be when I get it done.
the Launch is coming along great, I've already rendered the variations on the 50ton and just need to assemble them, then finish rendering the variations on the 20ton and package them all together. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks; after that the Starport Folk should be within a week of that release.

Oy! Thanks to three teenagers and the eldest being in a long term relationship, my internet has been down for a couple of months. I've been using the cellular data, but also thanks to three teenagers, that's been slowed to a crawl. As a result, it's taking 45 minutes to get a product into the store. Despite these setbacks, I have several new items to share, I just don't have preview images to link here as those are always separate uploads to my DA page. first up, Space Port Folk! And now I've released a line of 8.5" x 11" portraits of my mini art! I was informed two days ago that the Dead Reign minis are being added to the release schedule. Not sure how soon that means they will be up.

So if you are one of the ten lucky customers who has already purchased Vol 9 Space Port Folk 2, I noticed this morning that in my creative flurry to put this set together I neglected to flip the switch on one of my photoshop actions to put my own copyright back into the mix, and the first edition has Palladium's copyright on the minis. Fixed it, a second download will replace the previous version.

Brief update!
I'm working on several projects but day to day gets in the way. I have a set of Zhodani Marines on the stove simmering. I've got a few pieces done for the El Cheapo Fantasy Folk line, starting with Fighters and Mages. Before I complete any of those however, I'm writing a piece about Demon Clowns for the Demon Hunters World Bible and Art Book. That will lead into Demon Hunters Licensed Paper Minis as well.
Busy busy busy!

HEROIC SCALE! I'm curious how many people would be interested in this; I'm adding an extra .pdf to each of my products with larger miniatures; my standard minis are to scale with a 1 inch = 5 feet grid, but standard minis are generally much larger, so now I'm including 1.75 inch versions. Note that I haven't just enlarged the existing minis, I'm making these from the original portrait sized renders so they are the highest resolution they can be. Future Folk is the first set I have done, if you've purchased it go download the new set and tell me what you think. Almost finished with Crew Folk 1 next.

Okay, I've been a bit lax.
Currently I've been plugging away at artwork for the Journal of the Travellers Aid Society Kickstarter; I only have a few more ships to design and I'll be done with that.
But I think this weekend I'll try to launch my El Cheapo Fantasy Folk line. I'm about finished with the Fighters set, what should come next? Magic Folk? Sneaky Folk? Religious Folk? Gimme some feedback.

Well, eventually you will "need" to release all those. I think Religious Folk is going to be the hardest because the symbols they use are likely to be setting specific. If you have some lightly armoured fighters they might do for Sneaky Folk for a while so maybe start with Magic Folk?

Yeah, I was thinking Magic Folk would be the best second set too, stark difference from the Fighters.

Update: Been crazy busy with the day job, working with a schizophrenic is no easy task.
Also doing Freelance work; I contributed 15 ship and vehicle designs to Mongoose's Journal of the Traveller's Aid Society Kickstarter!
And after bragging about that, MARC MILLER contacted me and I did 3 pieces for Far Future Enterprises!
And now I'm starting on the limited collectors print and coin design for TravellerCon!
Also, I have 20 characters to design for the game I'm running at GenCon in 3 weeks, so I am ridiculously busy.
OH! But the collector's print for TravellerCon will include enough Vargr mercenaries and Humaniti Colonists to make a set of minis!

Collector's print for TravellerCon done! Minis coming out very soon! Vargr font half finished (usable in all caps)!
Brain fried! Need to raise $250 to get the car fixed and $160 to get the broken tooth and faulty filling fixed. Plus the day job is getting more difficult.

I know the feeling. It's bad when the part-time gig is spinning off more cash than the day job

With 3 teenagers and a mortgage, my wife and I make enough money to scrape through by the skin of our teeth living from check to check. Anything extra has to come from the part-time gig, so when I was in the accident at the end of June it almost cost me going to GenCon.
The day job is salary so I have to get in at least 40 hours each week; as I only have one consumer right now and their parents take them on a home visit at random, I sometimes have to work doubles to get my hours in. Last week was that way, they didn't inform me they were taking the consumer until Tuesday afternoon, so despite a head cold I had to stay a couple extra hours that day and then work 16 hours the next.
Since my coronary episode in May I get up at 4am and jog (read - old man shuffle-run) 5k every morning before work. Getting up at 4am and getting to bed after a 16 hour shift at 12am, only to get back up at 4am and do it all over again.. I'm 45, that sh!t gets old quick.
Lastly, the consumer I watch is a severe schizophrenic, with daily outbursts of absurd nonsense that my autistic need for order is extremely taxed by. If you walked up to any random person on the street and asked them to define 'batdoody crazy', this is the person they would describe.

Not making light of your situation, but ...
You have a wife who is employed, keeping you afloat.
You have three teenagers.
You had the coronary episode early enough in life that you can get back to a fairly good health in your old age. If you were my age and had the episode, it might have been the big one. Too many folks my age have their first episode and don't make it. There are many things out there that can seem overwhelming, but sometimes you have to scrape away some of the muck and see the blessings, too. When I was young, I was heading down a less-than-favorable path. Face it, if they have to pump your stomach twice in the same month due to alcohol poisoning, that should be warning enough that you are not being a good steward of your health, but I received a blessing, an ulcer.
I had to stop drinking almost entirely. If I hadn't had the ulcer, I doubt I'd be here now. As a side note, about ten years ago, I had a stomach issue and they had to run tests. No sign of the ulcer. Ulcers aren't supposed to ever 'go away'. Evidently mine did.
Count your blessings, sir. And don't let the 'barsteads' get you down

I am not (to my knowledge) autistic, but I would find working with a "batdoody crazy" extremely taxing. Don't be afraid to ask your teenagers to help, if you can think of how. I find they like being needed.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support.
I'm just moaning because I'm exhausted and the bad teeth are giving me grief.
the TravellerCon print has been approved so I should get the final payment on that soon. I'm working on getting paid to do tokens based on my official Traveller minis for Fantasy Grounds, and if that goes through I may have enough to fix the car and close to enough for one of the bad teeth to get fixed.
But the waiting for other people to do their part is annoying; for example, I've already turned all of the Rifts paper minis into tokens but the guy who's behind pitching that project has dropped off the face of the earth. If I had the time or patience to figure out how to work Fantasy Grounda and Roll20 I'd be selling them myself already.

Still haven't heard from TravellerCon about the last third of what they owe me, but Mongoose hit me up for 4 new ship designs; I've completed 3 of them and should have the fourth done tomorrow. That will pay for my car AND the teeth.

It's been too long since I did a set of minis. I've got two commissions for The Demon Hunters World Bible due this week, CogCon is Friday, I'm behind on two other commissions, I've got another one waiting in the wings and all I want to do when I get home from work each night is go to bed early.
When it rains it pours?
