With lightning's ships, I am really getting a bug for something nautical. Would squirmydad's Off the Map being expanded to cover Meso/South America, Jungle, and Explorers, Pirates, Strange Beasties and Lost Civilizations be too general? I also feel Under-Represented Races is overdue. I'm also tempted to lump a couple together that might require discussion -- Wild West Circus. Circuses generally have a fantastic, Bohemian feel to them, even out west (maybe especially in the Old West). Not sure if it works. But if it did work, we'd have the best of both worlds. On PLASEBUILMO, would we want it open to anything or geared towards a specific category? Since I have Moon Landing scheduled, would a general Sci Fi hoard be able to accept Spaceport, Early Sci Fi AND Retro Future? So many good ideas

"Early Retro Future Sci-Fi Moon Landings" sounds great! "Off the Map" is intentionally vague, which I like as it leaves open the door to all manner of possibilities. "Carnivale" is set in the American West in the 1930's and may serve as inspiration to some, wasn't really my cuppa. Perhaps "Wild West & Circuses"?

I'd have no trouble throwing all scifi together, excluding the moon landing, as this should celebrate 50 years of space exploration awesomeness. But with the other topics, it could well be a "Living among the stars" hoard, combining all of them together...
The idea of a wild west carnival hoard sounds nice, as long as it is so open as to include wild west frontier style buildings and minis. Kind of "The Big Show comes to Daisy Town"...

"Wild West and Circuses" makes me think of "Something Wicked This Way Comes." I suspect it isn't actually "old west" but it could also tie into "Kids vs. . ."

Wild west shows, rodeos, and circuses all have a similar asthetic to them, sounds like a great mashup to me!

If we drag the list together as follows...
1) Meso/South America 2) Moon Landing 3) Early Sci Fi // Spaceport // Retro Future 4) Caped Crusaders 5) Jungle // Explorers, pirates, strange beasties, lost civilizations 6) Wild West // Carnival/circus 7) Strange Saints 8) Kids vs ... 9) Vehicles 10) Under-represented races. 11) PLASEBUILMO
...there would be one slot left for Papercuts. Why not make some of the ideas above themes for the regular hoard slots of the year like Halloween and Christmas? Like "Strange Saints" for Christmas, and "Kids vs..." for Halloween, and the exploration themed hoard for Procastrinators...
This way we could keep all of those nice and shiny ideas. Just an idea...

may i suggest a hoard with fantasy ships for fantasy naval wargame??? Explorers Hoard will be including world explorers, seafaring folk and their floatation devices The annual Halloween and Christmas Hoards seem to be having less interest. I was thinking that possibly dropping one or the other might be a good idea. Maybe doing each one on alternating years.

I like shep 's idea of actually having specific Hoard themes for the Hallowe'en and Christmas periods, rather than "forcing" them in as just the respective "Wars" they've become in more recent times. Might stop the staleness Vermin King noted?

Hate to say this guys, but we may be over-thinking this. From my point of view: either I am inspired or I am not, and I won't really know until I get there. I had never heard of "First Men In The Moon" until @glorioiusbattle brought it up in the Oct. hoard. And "we" accept off-theme submissions as well. I think any list of thought provoking titles will do the job.

Good points. I think I will throw Great White North in for 2019 and for 2020, Spooky Goodness
To make room for this, I think Meso/South America can go in with Off the Map
Yes, I do over-think things sometimes (like my perpetual problem with stairs), but a little over-thinking generally makes for a better flow.

Might I also suggest cargo, jetsam and flotsam? You can see some in this photo that I got from WWG in some kit[bash] or another...

I was halfway expecting a more detailed desire for Flotsam Jetsam Cargo and Cr_p.
I thoroughly do not understand the thought process over there. Pay some college kid minimum wage for a week and migrate everything to OBS already

I really would like to see some Caped Crusaders, preferably somewhat generic costumed mystery men rather than Batman and Robin. I was surprised that I seem to be unable to find any superheroes in the various hoards.
To expand a bit further, and if given my 'druthers, I really enjoy the 1940s style superheroes, styled after Green Hornet and other 'mystery men.' Generally masked, with few or no superpowers, just martial arts and perhaps a smattering of gadgets. The occasional rocketeer, or similar also fits in well, as do pets and sidekicks, like Scruffy the Wonder-Marmoset.
For such types, gangsters, mad scientists (supported by big, evil robots, of course) and Nazis / Imperial Japanese tend to make the best villains, imho, and should be added into such hoards with some liberality.
Again, if given my 'druthers.

To be honest, being a KS-backer of okumarts' Save the Day, I have everything and plenty of it, regarding the Caped Crusaders theme, and I strongly recommend having a look at the various mini sets already available through DTRPG...
