I use a program called Foxit PhantomPDF 7.3 to convert the miniatures into pngs so they can be manipulated. For some reason, this often breaks the picture into a large number of small image files, each of which contains only part of the whole.
Any help?

So, it is not a problem downloading? Just a problem with using that Foxit program? I had never heard of that program before now. Were you unable to use Gimp or other program?

I'm guessing that the downloads you are talking about are old One Monk/Jim Hartman files? That breakup effect is the result of the pdf's that were created by the Canvas drawing program. Try opening them in Photoshop or Gimp, they should be fine then.

I have used a filter in GIMP to get rid of the horizontal lines on onemonk/JH pdf's: Filter, Enhance, Deinterlace
