Ooh, they look nice!
The back story for my Hoard entry this month has a little nod to the Cult of Cthulhu (as well as my Hook and Pan minis), and I can just see them duking it out in front of the idol with Jim's cultists or my Hook and Jim's Pirate Skeleton crew...

I think I gave my comments elsewhere on this site about the Empty Room Studios set, so I will post something on the Fat Dragon set, or at least the figures from it as I have yet to build the terrain pieces (I haven't built them from the ERS set either).
They are much more realistic looking figures (more in the style of ERS's hard boiled undead set). There are 8 figs, and they come attached to a 25mm hex shaped base, but that can be cut off for those that want to use a base of a different style.
They look nice, but there are still a couple issues. First off, there's no outer black line. Thats not too much of an issue, as alignment is good, if you leave a white edge around the fig and color it in yourself. 2 of the 8 figures do not have a back view for some reason. Since I have no need for pulp era figs at the moment, I only assembled the monk-looking cultists, and they came out really nice when flat based.

Well after assembling the minis in those 2 sets, I decided to go ahead and give Jim's chtuluh an attempt: I based him using a 6" circle with Jim's dungeon texture (and shrunk down a bit thanks to GIMP... grrr...) and tooka random summoning circle pic from google images (i have absolutely no idea who the original artist is for that circle), changed it to a blue to white gradient, and stuck it on top. I felt that a mini as articulate as that requires a base fancier than normal. I quickly assembled a skele mini for scale adn size representation.

I've had one of Jim's Cthulhu critters printed out for some time, but I didn't start putting it together till Fat Dragon came out with their set. It would make a perfect diorama, even if I never play a game with it. I'm taking my time with the model, allowing plenty of time for the glue to cure between operations. Sometimes a little patience goes a long way in terms of the quality of the finished product. Thanks Jim! Thanks Fat Dragon Tom!
Having fun! Steve
