And another project for the new year. Coming back to Asia, I am planning a modular setup for the typical Chinese courtyard houses.
This is a sketch of one medium sized layout. By having the main building blocks (main houses, extension houses, walls/walkways and gates) in different dimensions, one should be able to put together anything from a small narrow single courtyard to a huge double courtyard layout.

Modular is such a cool idea. Do people ever tell you what rules they use to play with your models? Is there something out there that evokes "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragons?"

People more often ASK me about rules! For Tiger&Dragon feeling, I suggest flying rules ;-)

Shiny! I loooove all your models, and some day I'll find the time to build them, too... As for rules, I recommend the FATE-based ยป Tianxiaยซ...

Almost done. Have to add weathering and fold-flat and then add some more small details. This time the month end is coming too fast :-)

I know that feeling. I totally agree with you on the artistic nature of these structures. I just wish there was more of a need for these in the gaming community. You'd think with all the ninja's, samurai's, the feudal states and mythology that there would be more games centered in the Asiatic cultures

I agree. But I feel I am becoming know in the Asian culture gaming community. So that's nice. Still I am wondering when the regular fantasy adventurers will discover this as an exotic location?
Next month I am going back to the Ships and that usually has much more interest :-)

All of the Chinese stuff is very useful for Boxer Rebellion and WW2 Manchukuo wargaming as well.

All of the Chinese stuff is very useful for Boxer Rebellion and WW2 Manchukuo wargaming as well. That's a great reminder for me. I always forget what my stuff can be used for. It's called builders tunnel vision. It's a thing!!!
In the meantime I have finished the final regular build for making instructions photos ...
... and I am back to work on the fold flat build and the 12" version!

Not yet but I have started on the 12" wide version a while ago. I want to do that so I can release the first building to public.
