Back in 2008 Jim Hartman was creating a series of Battlecar models, the first two kits are here; One Monk Downloads
When I acquired all of his files five years ago I came across a prototype for the third version...and then forgot about it. Recently I spent a week in the hospital and I remembered this old project, which I've now cleaned up and released. The second link is for the blank version of the model so that people can make their own color versions, which I'd be happy to collect and host.
The first two kits were themed around corporate sponsorships for their color schemes. What I'd really like to see is a collection of Battlecars themed around Paper Model creators. Have fun with these and please post your designs.
Hi! I'm Harry, and I am a hobby addict. I prefer papercraft scenery to use alongside my 28mm metal and plastic miniatures, and am not afraid to mix and match my hobby media. I game sci-fi, fantasy, and historical (including Ancients, Dark Ages, Renaissance, and World War II Pacific Theater (oddly in both 28mm infantry and 3mm aircraft.)

I'm getting better. The doctors told me it was the worst case of shingles they'd ever seen. It was the Ramsay-Hunt version so half of my head was enflamed and it felt like my teeth were being electrocuted every two seconds. The hospital put me in isolation and gave me 8 different medications, the food was pretty good though. I've still got crazy pains stabbing my ear and half my face is mostly paralyzed, makes it hard to wear my glasses when the muscles around the eye don't work correctly. I'm getting better though, thanks.
Shingles are NO FUN! Sorry to hear that. I caught a case early and missed most of the issues one can face. I was very lucky and it still sucked. I was also dating a doctor specializing in geriatrics at the time so THAT helped.
Made it all the way through the blog. Can we place a link to it in the header here?
Sure, but I don't think it'd be terribly useful to place it here. I mainly use it to mirror announcements that I make here, in two places on Facebook, and on Patreon. I'm also pretty sure that all of the blog followers are here in the forum.

cowboyleland: I always thought Tirick was a little mad.

Vermin King: Really worn out tonight, so when I'm like that I just look for things I used to have, but don't any more. I got the Zippy models and am rebuilding my Tirick/TCF Gaming folder. How the heck would anyone build his 1/1000 Battletech mechs without enlarging

Toman: yea I have been. pretty cool project. I've done a few scratch builds like that but not as large. cutting individual stones or carving stones in foam sucks.

Vermin King: Anybody else following Mauther's home-made Playmobile castle build? Looks really good so far

cowboyleland: Good point. Maybe make the wing feathers seperately so that the wind could get through them?

squirmydad: We had two operators for the hawk though, one to carry the weight and the other to flap the wings.

squirmydad: Probably silk and dowels. I assisted in the construction of a giant hawk puppet for an indoor show, probably about the same size as that pegasus.

Vermin King: It's got to be really light. The article dealt with parade puppets. I don't think I'd want to be trying to control that in a stiff wind

lightning: that's a nice pegasus!

shep: Will it fly, if you move the wings fast enough?
